Here is better scenario: Russian air defences simply didn't notice drones coming.
Ukraine already has deployed drones and munitions against Russia proper. Why would a mini-me version of Russia fare any better?

Have you thought that maybe the southern border isn't as heavily watched as you think it is? Most likely scenario is that Russians simply didn't see them coming until it was too late, and that's ofcourse bad news for Russian air force, now all their airbases at 1000km range from Ukraine are in danger.

Drone hit in another location. Blast looks too large to drones warhead so drone probably did strike something.

Bryansk strike was (apparently) aimed against Russian electornics industry. Drones buzzing sound heard clearly before hit.
Impressive no doubt hitting a target almost 700km away but the targets doesn't make sense unless US shared intel that those aircraft were of high value. If they were just cargo planes then it's sorta a waste of 20 drones when you have target rich environment in Crimea and Russian black sea ports like oil depots in range of these drones unless they weren't launch inside Ukraine.
They are getting Ukrainian GERAN more or less... it was bound to happen.
If Ukrainian forces start to do it continually, things will get way hotter than now. They could target a lot of infrastructures the same.
It will precipitate action from the Russian side and i'm not sure what we will see to deter that situation. I clearly could see some fab9000 lobed and full call of reserves happening.
You're doing the Russia is now really going to take off the gloves... If they have the capability to lobe a fab9000 they would have done it by now and not wait for some attack on their soil which has been happening since the start of the war.

It's not like shaheds are some space magic, it was only a matter of time before Ukraine attempts the same tactics against Russia, only difference being that with such a huge landmass Russia would have a more difficult task defending all avenues of attack.
