The War in the Ukraine

In both cases, the cruise missiles and R-77, those were not bought in bulk by the Russian Armed Forces because they used components made in Ukraine. These were only bought in large amounts once Russia made their own turbofan for cruise missiles and their own sensor for R-77.

A major Russian breakthrough may be in progress. This morning I saw the first sighs on Suriyak's map:

It raised my eyebrow because this seems to be a pretty big gain for 1 day of fighting compared to before. After waiting for a while DPA came out with this update:

He seems to think a huge breakthrough is in progress, much more extensive than the above map suggests. And now Suriyak came back with this update:

Another sources say this offensive is headed by the elite 4th Guards Tank Division. Despite their elite status they haven't performed very well in the initial days of the war nor during the Kharkov offensive, so it would be interesting to see what they can achieve this time. It seems though they are breaking out in a fan in every direction.
They haven’t captured enough towns to anchor themselves on that side of the Zherebets river.

Fields near a river are unlikely to have more than a 1-2 defense lines, because the river is a natural barrier.

Russians need to either entrench themselves, or capture a few more towns in order to secure this bridgehead. Otherwise these gains, regardless of how much area they take, can be taken back by Ukrainians just as easily.

WSJ article about the failure of the Ukranian offensive. The west was aware the Ukranians were underquiped and underprepared for the offensive but hoped they would get lucky.

Another isssue is that instead of attacking in waves, Ukraine is doing it sequentially, firing artillery first then moving infantry, which allows the Russians to prepare. It also points that no sane western commander would dare to carry out a counteroffensive without control of the skies, something the Ukranians can't achieve

Hmmm
It seems there has been a lack of activity of the Ukrainian Air Force lately
It couldn't be that the Ukrainian Air Force has been destroyed right?
It still exists, albeit less noticeable. MIG-29’s are mainly used to shoot down cruise missiles and shaheds. Su-24’s are regularly used for Storm Shadow strikes, like they recently did to Crimea.

China secretly sends enough gear to Russia to equip an army

The EU will not trigger a response to China's shipment of dual-use materials to Russia, as long as it remains in this "neutrality", Russia would continue to increase imports, according to customs data, that russian imports are increasing. We also saw that Chechnya imported military vehicles from China, thus causing a flurry of comments from China supporting Russia in the war.
