The War in the Ukraine

Given that the manufacturer of TB-2 (Baykar Defence) is owned by the family of Erdogan’s son in-law; it’s probably smart politically for Ukraine to continue buying them. Even if the drone itself has been relegated to a mostly reconnaissance role.
I doubt tb2s are used for recon, Ukraine at this point has a multitude of uavs that are far more plentiful compared to a TB2 that can function in a recon role, they are non-stealthy and expensive to be attrited this way. They should only be used for striking targets close to the front, as seen here with the shotdown UAV carrying munition.

In arm package news, the yet to be announced package might contain a number of anti-UAV systems from droneshield, which seem to consist entirely of jamming/EW equipment.

What I think you're overlooking, is the idea that some Russian generals are incompetent, and that those incompetent generals are still on the front line. We have very limited ways of gauging which generals are good and which ones aren't.

So any changes in officers are questionable, because we simply lack a lot of contextual information.
The US made the same claims in Syria when the Russians kept rotating their generals. It is just Russian standard operating procedure.
Surovikin for example, is claimed to have been taken out from command and arrested, etc. When the truth is he is on forced leave. Mandatory rest period. He overdid things and was in poor condition.

I think you're a little too hasty in making assessments. I agree that the Ukrainian offensive fell short of expectations. However, I also don't think we can reliably judge how well Russians have performed either in defense, or on the counter-attack. Both sides are highly selective in what footage they publish. There may very well be units that are very poorly run, despite being "successful".
The Russians have been doing way better in the defense this year than any of us expected I think.

You're missing the context of the Wagner mutiny. The firing of generals at the moment, is particularly suspect because there are definitely people in the Russian Army who are sympathetic to Wagner.

In that context, changes in officers could be happening because of incompetency, political loyalty, scapegoating, or otherwise.
It also happens because they rotate people out. For rest. And to give everyone in the officer pool command experience.
One of the generals which was removed from command recently, you know the one they like to quote that said his troops needed to be rotated out and they had to give them better counter battery capability, that guy was responsible for the highly successful defense at Zaporizhzhia. Well, prior to that, he was in the Kharkiv region where the Ukrainians did their successful counter-offensive and he had to run all the way to Lugansk.

I would give you the original Telegram link in Russian, but I am on a company computer that sporadically blocks it.

Rybar also says a lot of BS and has amplified Ukrainian propaganda in more than one occasion.
They are valuable enough as a resource, but I would not trust what they say so completely.
They supposedly have ties to Prighozin, so you have to consider that.

I'm not taking their word for granted. My words were not so categorical.

I don't know what's actually going on, and I'm not going to make a guess when there is so little information available. But some of the theories posted by Western pundits are possible and reasonable explanations, even if they are uncharitable to Russia's war effort.

Kalibrated strikes at Nikolaev and Odessa targeted vital ammunition and fuel depots, given the extreme bright flashes of the explosions.

Ukrainian vehicles graveyard at Belogorovka. Ukrainian BMPs getting destroyed as they try to unload and evacuate under minefields, heavy artillery and tank fire.

While one British supplied USV managed to get through to damage the Kerch Bridge, a swarm of long range drones attacking Russian military facilities in Crimea were all shot down.

Radar tracking of the attack on Odessa. Multiple objects from Gerans, to Oniks, to Kalibers and Kh-22

They still have quite amount of Radars there it seems. I noticed several types.

-1L13 "Nebo SV"
-P-18MU "Malakhit"
-P-18MA
-79K6 "Pelikan"
-35D6

There are also contacts registered as Blue, which maybe friendly aircraft/UAV's. There is also Black "contact" with P-18MA written in it which probably the location of the radar station.
