The War in the Ukraine

New released drone video of a Russian armor column being destroyed by the use of the Javelins in a repulsed attack south of Avdiivka.
How long do you wager it will take Russia to realise that it must first deny enemy drone-based IRS before moving even a single tank?

Just with that drone footage, you can easily see that Ukrainian commanders are basically playing a drop down RTS game. They have complete overview of the situation

It's the same both sides and they continue to move in each other in the open... Russia need to decide to use large area electronic warfare to move their forces even if it cut their own DJI forces on these occasions.

Well, I guess it is sorta confirmed where those t-54/55's are going.

I find it weird how they are broadcasting that there will be an offensive in the spring or early summer. The only thing that makes sense to me is you can't hide all that movement of troops, tanks and other equipment from the Russians so might as well shout it that it is coming in the hopes it spooks the frontline troops? I mean they did say there was an offensive coming in Kherson and it did happen at the same time Ukraine launched an offensive at Kharkiv Oblast so...
Lmao they did hide the movements in the North last time. I can only imagine Russian surveillance hasn't gotten any better since then.

If you’re referring to Kharkov, the Russian milbloggers were already talking about the Ukrainian accumulation 1-2 weeks before. Why the Russian command didn’t do anything about it is unknown, but the most likely explanation is that they didn’t have the reserves to bolster Kharkov even if they wanted to.

With this maximum range (50-280 km), the entire Crimean peninsula would be within reach of the SRBM Grom-2:

I think the 280km limit was before their withdrawal from respecting the INF rules. It could be well over 500km now. The more important question is whether the Ukrainians only have Grom stocks from before the war or are they actively producing them, and if so, where?

MoD of Russia was quite specific about it being a GLSDB.
Maybe it was field trial and got intercepted? There should be ready soon anyways so it might actually be one.
No way to know

What I mean by announcements are bad...

Either:
A) Russia is shooting down a weapon that doesn't exist yet
B) America pre-announcing the delivery of a weapon that doesn't exist yet

Earlier in this thread I told the story of my younger days, the unit CO announcing the imminent arrival of HIMARS. That was in 2000's. Now Ukraine has HIMARS, but there are still none in Canada.

I'm surprised that the Russians don't keep their jammers on as much as possible while maneuvering. They have other recon methods like helicopters and satellites after all, and when on the attack, they have the freedom of picking the time and place of battle so they can stop jamming exactly when they're about to strike.

Well it was listed in an aid packet months ago, so who knows by now

Same story for Russian airforce, effective until they were forced to turn off jammers due to interference with ground communication, might be the same reasons here that wide band jamming is considered too detrimental to normal ground operations.
