The War in the Ukraine

Both Russian and Ukraine sides use the term "irrecoverable losses", which is killed, missing, plus crippled.

So eg. if total casualties, KIA-MIA/crippled-heavy wounded/light wounded is 1000.

KIA-MIA is 100 and crippled is 100 then that's 200 irrecoverable. 800 lightly wounded.

In a long war, the lightly wounded return to service in weeks or months and eventually come back.

The crippled, dead and missing never return.

In my opinion if professional-contract force converts to mostly irrecoverable losses that's when we will see a breakdown as the corps of expertise and competence is lost.
Yeah ''irrecoverable losses'' is a nice definite number, ''casualties'' is not.

But in real life outside all cope and propaganda numbers fantasies, we will not know near real figures before the war ends.

And even then, it will not be enough and people will still spin them one way or the other. Case in point the Winter War and Continuation war where casualties are still used to cope with the loss of both wars.

Sounds like it collided with the propeller, destroying the prop and causing the drone to glide into the ocean. Su 27 won’t be flying again for some time if true, and that pilot should be send to Bakhmut.

Sounds like it was done on purpose, you don't accidentally collide with the prop of a Reaper that easily. The articles also mention the Su-27 was trying to disturb the MQ-9's flight by discharging fuel and flares infront of it before the collisio.

So, they basically shot down the drone in a way that offers plausible deniability about the intent
