The War in the Ukraine

How do you guys assess the analysis made here by Gen.Wes Clark (ret.) former NATO SACEUR on Russian strategic aims, Putin’s apparent ultimate goal, and the need for Ukraine to be supplied with whatever they need in order to halt or pushed Russian forces out before it's too late.

Even if his analysis is right or wrong. That guy is not remotely trustworthy IMO. Saying that they need to send Ukraine more equipment and money at an much faster rate… while at the same time being an senior advisor for Black Rock, Goldman Sachs, and an clean energy firm. Totally zero conflict of interest and a very well connected general with Wall Street Elites.

There's been a small scale Russian counter attack around Kharkov with Russians taking back some ground. Interestingly at least two Russian sources claim Ukrainian positions around Kharkov is weakening because they are transferring units from there to the Donbas front to try to stabilize the situation there.

If it turns out to be true that's pretty hilarious, Ukrainian would have tried to use 围点打援 to relieve Donbas and then got 围点打援 in return.

Fun time ahead. Snoozefest is over. As usual Russians focus on destruction of enemy troops over land grab. However instead of artillery grind they are going for encirclement now. This could be because Ukraine has lost most of their quality equipments. Going from the fact they need basic T-72 M1 from neighbors. Now is the time to push. This time they wont lose as much as first phase.

I think he makes good points.

Keep in mind, he has historically always been pro escalatory. He called for a no-fly zone in the first week of the invasion.

Back in the 90s, he almost started WW3 with Russia over an airfield in Kosovo …

Media report that about 1700 soldiers in Azovstal Steel Plant have surrendered but no commander has done so yet. Is there any possibility that the "Big Fish" transform themselves into wounded or surrendered soldiers and sneaked away from the Steel Plant? Or they even might bribe the Russian soldiers to let them flee away secretly?
If you consider "big fish" as someone with stars, then I think there are two possiblities:

1. Indeed there were fishes that big under Azovstal. If Russia got their hands on them they would want to keep quiet and use them as very useful cards for horse trading. Therefore we wouldn't know if big fishes are caught
or
2. There are no big fish, just little fishes or even just shrimped. So we won't see any.

In both cases outwardly to us onlookers we will see no big fish, so it's unverifiable and therefore pointless to talk about.

I heard that a retired 3 star Canadian general is having a Vodka drink with Russian FSB in Moscow singing Kalinka and Kazachok song with his Russian interrogator.

According to a report by USNI, Russian hypersonics are underperforming in Ukraine:

Seems a play to the gallery. Missiles are underperforming then goes on to say all the missile strikes were targeting civilians, and unless you start counting UAF barracks as civilian installations, seems quite disingenious..

Also, you can't be an american politician or military officer and say "The witnesses agreed it was the largest employment of missile systems since World War II" with a straight face when you fired +400 HARMs alone during the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Then there is the whole thing about giving Patriots and THAADS to Ukraine; might as well deliver them directly to the russians.
