How else do you know think 18 out of 20 J-10C were combat capable for May 7th?
Given how new the PAF J10Cs were at the time, I don’t think such high availability would be massively abnormal.
From what I understand, the technical support was more instrumental in providing timely tweaks to allow the J10Cs to be better prepared to go against Meteor equipped Rafales as they got confirmation shortly before the battle that the IAF Rafales had Meteors integrated and available.
You can make of that what you will, but the most obvious possibility is that they disabled whatever software or hardware nerfs the PL15E might have had to unlock its full range capabilities, which was so instrumental in securing that combat result.
