Hey there,
in their book "Modern Taiwan Air Power" at Harpia (2021), Roy Choo and Peter Ho mention, on page 59, about the Mirage 2000, that "(...) due to political sensitivity, all ground modes of the Thales RDY have been removed(...)".
Does anybody know that story?

There are rumours that ROCN is in discussion with US to buy LCS, however ROCN is denying these rumours.
Seems like a bad purchase to me if it happens, given LCS operating costs.
Thanks, it makes sense. To prevent them from launching air to surface munition, which is a big no no for the PRC.
They'll probably* come upgraded, there is a quite sensible upgrade plan for them.In my opinion the money is better spent just getting more Tuo Chiang class corvettes.
What's the LCS going to do? Bully the Philippines in SCS?
Whilst PRC usually opposes US arms transfers to TW, in this case they should positively encourage it. The more LCS transferred to TW the better from PLAN's point of view.If you understand chinese/mandarin you can watch this video:
Even the US Navy can't wait to get rid of them as fast as they enter service.

The only advantage is LCS' superior cruise speed. Well it can give those DPP head honchos a more comfortable ride than squeeze inside a helicopter.Whilst PRC usually opposes US arms transfers to TW, in this case they should positively encourage it. Not cruise, dash. Dash, signature, equipped space and traits of modularity (excess of energy, etc.)The only advantage is LCS' superior cruise speed. Well it can give those DPP head honchos a more comfortable ride than squeeze inside a helicopter.
