DPP accusing certain KMT legislators of attempting to obstruct construction of the IDS (I Don't Submerge Indigenous Defense Submarine), even going so far as providing intelligence to the Mainland that resulted in arrests of 'friends' involved in the submarine programme -

How many Shaheed style suicide drones could they have purchased with the budget for one of these things? 10,000, 20,000, 50,000?

How many Shaheds would it take to plug the Bashi and Miyako Straits that apparently can be done by only 4 of these subs (and a "total blockade" with only 8 subs) tho?

One sub has 75 % chance of blocking Bashi or Miyako Straits, so 4 subs have 150% chance of blocking both straits. 8 subs will have 300% and be complete overkill.

More problems with the new submarine. Holy sh*t just look at the middle section, the panels don't even align, and there's visible holes and gaps... Yikes... Is this what billions of dollars of western assistance gets you? Can you also imagine the propaganda output if this were a PLAN sub launch?

Pretty sure those are the gaskets for the flood ports situated amidships. This sub is evidently patterned after the Dutch Zwaardvis class, which is what the ROCN's current pair of Hailung subs are based on.

Zwaardvis/Hailung -

But yeah, shoddy work indeed to have the gasket peeling off on day 0 when it hasn't even gone into the water.
