You are so correct Obi Wan...Presently there is only one Tv program on broadcast Tv I watch regulary. It's called "King of Queens" A half hour comedy.

I don't have Si-Fi channel so I'm stuck with rentals. I refuse to watch "reality" shows. They are not reeality but contrived elaborate game shows. Nothing more. To me most of the stuff on broadcast Tv is crap.

I have never seen a single reality show. Not even "American Idol" And I never will!

Thank goodness for DVD box sets! I'm usually at work (I work nights) when my favourite TV shows are on so my VCR (yes I still have one!) works overtime. The tapes then get passed to a friend of mine who is also occupied when the shows are on, so I get some mileage out of them. I've started collecting favourite series on DVD as well so my library is quite well stocked now.:nana:

I perosnally prefer SG1 and Atlantis but im also a fan of Star Trek the only problem is they pass to many re-runs of Star Trek.

I actually really like Stargate. I always liked how it was set in present times rather than being all futuristic and such. Although it reached a low point, it is still one of my favorite shows, whether we're talking about science fiction or in general. It's too bad it was cancelled. I currently own Seasons 1-7 and 9, and downloads of 10 from iTunes (I don't have cable or satellite). I also have episodes downloaded of Season 3 of Atlantis.

I think Stargate SG-1 has gone way too long and deserved to be axed. Every story now seems to be a rehash of something Star Trek had before or something Stargate had played in previous seasons. All this despite Claudia Black adding a fresh air to the series.

Because of Lost, Heroes, and BSG, sci-fi in TV is now trending towards a heavily serial based plot, as opposed to episodic plot structures with story over-arcs.

At least Stargate Atlantis seems to be more interesting for now. I don't like their cast changes though, as next season Samantha Carter becomes Atlantis' new CO, replacing Weir, whio will still have some guest roles.

The only show I am waiting to watch for fridays in Sci Fi channel is Painkiller Jane. I find the show gritty and edgy, though Kristanna Locken is always dressed too mannishly. Too bad Sci-Fi didn't renew the Dresden Files, I loved that show too. Good thing Eureka is coming back this July.
