Exactly Mace. Godzilla has grown over the decades. The original version was far closer to Kong in Scale but when they made the original Godzilla vs Kong they sailed them far closer in scale. Although Kong was smaller then G.
Godzilla really started to go big in Godzilla 1985 (note American title not the Japanese title.) when because of the modern Tokyo with sky scrapers G needed to get a bump in scale. If they make a Godzilla vs King Kong rematch I am betting they would alter the dynamics of the characters. Play up Kong for speed, maneuver, strategy and tactics vs G for shear power and protection.

As long as Kong was resized enough that he was at least 2/3 of Godzilla's size i don't think that'd be so bad, the size could be played up with Godzilla being a walking mountain and Kong using speed and momentum to tackle and kick him.

Here you go. I bet it's difficult to discuss without seeing it.

Oh man.. The 60's when you could get away with everything! If they tried that grease paint stunt today the law suits. Of course they could try and cover it with Ganguro, but that's got stereotypes attached to.
My Favorite line in that movie was when our intrepid explorers land on Skull island and find themselves surrounded. they start handing out packs of Cigarettes. after introducing the entire population of adults to wonder of nicotten One turns to the other and says
"It's Okay there all Smoking!"
Classic line made all the more evil when a little kid tugs on one of there legs.
"Oh we should have brought chocolate." says the other
then they do something really evil they give the kid a smoke.

then we meet Kong. and well the ol boy just ain't the same since new york. He been hitting the sauce and hard. the locals have not been helping any either. They are making his favorite special Wine in vat sized jugs. occasionally tossing him a virgin for fun.

I still don't see it. Gozilla and King Kong have a huge size discrepancy:

yup in reality (from a standpoint of canon) King Kong would be NO MATCH for Godzilla but then again this is Hollywood. It's no different than Superman vs Batman yet they are almost at par in some series.

I mean we're talking a guy with Godlike powers vs a normal human with fancy gadgets and a skyscaper tall gargantuan that can survive a direct nuclear explosion and shoots plasma rays vs a 20 ft tall ape.

Well, in defense of Superman vs Batman, at least Superman has a weakness to Kryptonite, and is known to have been nearly defeated on several occasions by another billionaire genius.

That's because he is an idiot LOL ... in reality if Superman is 'real', it would be virtually impossible to beat him Kryptonite or not. Not only does he have godlike powers but he also can reverse time. That power alone would make him impossible to defeat.
