Those the only ones? I'd be surprised and a bit upset to find out that the KOTOR/TOR series isn't canon, but then considering that bioware and Lucasarts have tried very hard to pretend like KOTOR2 didn't happen i guess i wouldn't mind that much.

Well based on the discussion in the video I posted Disney is trying to make all future Star Wars entities consolidated and done with a single and coherent direction, vision ,voice and etc. Basically what Marvel did with their properties under their brand. There is some good to this edict because there are a number of contradicting stories in SW Expanded Universe like Splinter of the Minds Eye good story but it is an event that wrecks the continuity of the original trilogy and that sort of stuff needs to be redeemed.

Not sure how I feel about the newbies. I just hope it doesn't end up being about people having to live the drama of their daily lives and they just happen to be Jedis too.

They probably will, i have little faith that Abrams won't embody the worst aspects of fanboy culture. If he doesn't it'll just make me more bitter about how little effort he put into the Trek movies.

BTW for anyone who cares, Star Trek Online got a new massive content update.

I hope this happens, there's been talk about a sequel to the "Last Starfighter". It may be 80s cheesy but I grew up with it and I loved it.:eek: I like the Gunstar 1 ship design as well. It's technology was has ahead of it's time (in film that is) with multiple targeting systems that works like today EOTS on the F-35 AND J-20.:eek:

The Gunstar is great multi-role space fighter concept. The capacity to engage multiple contacts and a massive weapons payload to still to engage capital ships.

A lot sci-fi space fighters are just WW2 planes with lasers.

Imagine having a single or even a squadron of Gunstar "Death Blossom" as your space defensive weapon system against incoming ICBMs? :eek::p

The Last Starfighter is a terrfic film.. I have it on DVD.. somewhere.

Now lately since netflix has Clone Wars available I've been watching the episodes in order. I really like it. I love the script continuity.. so far my favorite episodes were;

2nd season Episode 5 "Landing at Point Rain" Action packed from the beginning to end. Best land battles I've seen in any Star Wars film. Period.

2nd season Episode 10 "The Deserter"..kinda a combination of "Shane" and "Little House on the Prairie" Very well done. The last seen with the shootout inside the deserters home was just awesome. Very tense and very well done.

Hard to tell if a sequel of The Last Starfighter would attract an audience these days. The Last Starfighter was the second movie behind Tron to use computer graphics. These days it won't be second let alone first to do anything new. Also it was made during the era of the popularity of arcade games. They would probably have to remake it to fit today's trends.
