How do you know? I mean to you or me it sounds like a early Schwarzenegger impersonation, but for all we know Chewbacca could be quoting Wookie poetry. or maybe the Wookie Jedi can use force telepathy.

I was referring to the sound that Chewbacca makes when he speaks, he never did say a single word of English (as far as I know in the movies).

The Economy Department at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania have calculated that it would require one quadrillion tons of steel to build the Death Star such as the one in Star Wars. Additionally it would cost 13,000 times the worlds gross domestic product (GDP) to supply the steel alone for a structure of that size and the labor cost would be at least double that.

I can’t even begin to imagine how long the specifications would be…

Well if your a Galactic Empire with thousands of planetary economies, access to dead planets who's resources can be harvested with little worry.

And yet he is clearly understood by many individuals. Han and Kenobi both had conversations with him. Its possible that Woogie language is better known and understood by the educated of the Starwars universe.
Just remember my friend just because one does not speak the language does not make one a fool.

Chewbaca is clearly smart because he fixes things on the ship! To fix something that advanced, you need to be an engineer.

Endor in Return of the Jedi was originally a Wookie planet. But for that very same reason, they replaced Wookies with Ewoks because the Battle of Endor was supposed to be Lucas' comment on the Vietnam War where a technologically backward society took on an advanced one.

As Han Solo demonstrated, fixing the Millenium Falcon involves banging on the control panels.

Yes, LOL...but you must know where to bang, and how hard to bang, to achieve the desired results.

There may even be a time component to it so that you would also know when to bang.

In fact the timing and the strength of the banging may be a function of one another...we simply do not have enough data to know.
