Claudia Black far scape/SG1 Amanda Tapping SG1. There is a real dilemma. As I remember the debate in America over want lady you preferred; the Ginger (Claudia Black type) or Mary Ann (Amanda Tapping type).

Just kidding... I'm just shocked because she didn't look like that on the show. I guess being in the military they made her plain.

Her character was a civilian if memory serves. The Dr. Weir in Atlantis was a modified version of the Dr. Weir on SG1 and it demanded a very all business woman.

Yup, she was a civilian. She was pretty unremarkable in the SG-1 episode where she first appeared, but she really shone in Atlantis. I especially loved her romantic tensions with Shepard, and was pretty disappointed when she left the show.

She was also another woman. The actresses who introduced Dr. Weir on SG1 and the one who made her on Star gate Atlantis are two different people. The original Dr.weir was Jessica Steen.

It wasn't even suppose to be Dr. Weir. Amanda Tapping suppose to switch over to Atlantis. Just like Michelle Forbes' Ensign Ro Laren and not Major Kira was suppose to be on Deep Space 9.
