What's wrong with that? I say Star Trek needs to stay loyal and true it its fan than to trying to appease those special effects rules everything fan base types.

Star trek was and is a morality tail, but even at its most pacifist the Crew of the Enterprise were still more then willing to put boot to arse.

True, but they were explorers first, a soldier second. They don't go into an unknown planet or star system to conquer but to research and collect data. It is only when threaten with an attack do they take actions.
