Another football fight, another 49ers knockout.Fifth-seeded San Francisco edged the second-seeded Carolina Panthers, 23-10, on Sunday in Charlotte to advance to the NFC Championship game."It was a real arm-wrestling kind of struggle," Jim Harbaugh told reporters postgame. With the win, Harbaugh became the first NFL coach since the league’s reshaping in 1970 to advance to the conference title match in each of his first three seasons.Harbaugh and Co. meet NFC West rival Seattle next Sunday at CenturyLink Field for the right to attend the Super Bowl. The Seahawks bested the NFC South's New Orleans Saints in their Divisional round matchup.San Francisco, which has now won eight straight games including its final six in the regular season, had never before won consecutive road playoff games. Their 13th championship game appearance in Seattle will represent an NFL all-time high.

but What if the hits don't achieve anything for instance he's caught? does the hit still count.?
It is not considered a hit unless the batter gets on base with it. If it is caught in the air, it is an "out" and not a hit.

If it goes foul (out of play) it is not considered a hit.

So a hit does not just mean that he made contact with the ball. A hit is a ball that is placed into play and is not either caught in the air so the batter is out, and is also not caught after hitting the ground such that the player catching the ball can throw the runner out at one of the bases. If the player who hit the ball is able to get "on base," then it is considered a "hit."

A hit means he gets on base or hit a home run. If gets caught steeling and called out, it will not affect his hitting percentage. It would be in a different statistics.

My team the San Diego Chargers were beaten last week by the Denver Broncos..The Bolts played well in the 2nd half but did not have enough juice to overcome the early game deficit.

This week I'm happy to report that those stinking new England Patriots were beaten by the Broncos. I cannot stomach the whole New England Patriots thing. Not at all. I'm happy they lost. I respect the Patriots but do not like them at all.

Well it will be the Broncos and the Seahawks in the Super Bowl.

The Seahawks defeated San Francisco this evening.

I am hoping for a heck of a game and not some blow out or snoozer. I do no really have a dog in this hunt, but suppose I favor the Broncos, even though I am more a NFC man.

I think with all but one of Li Na's opponents who have proven to be her stumbling blocks towards adding to her open title wins knocked out, the path for her to make the finals is for hers to loose.
