What then? BYU has 550 yards RUSHING in 40-21 win over #15 Texas? I would not have thought anyone could do that to the Texas defensive line. In fact, no one ever has. 550 yards rushing is the most against any Texas Longhorn team in history.

The BYU quarterback is one heck of a runner...not elusive, but strong and fast. No arm tackle on that guy, particularly about the legs...he just ran through them. He had 259 yards in three quarters and could easily have had 300, but they stopped running him and sat on their lead.

And the BYU linebacker, Van Noy? Also outstanding. That guy has NFL written all over him. Litsen for that name in the future.

Some HUGE guys on that BYU offensive line. Typically BYU teams have always been big passing teams. The most rushing yards they have had in their entire history until this game was about 270 yards. They more than doubled it.

Now that they have found the true strength of their new QB, we will see if they can maintain it.

Texas defense has not been the same since defensive coordinator Will Muschamp left.

This is true. Well, they better get it in hand quickly. Their hopes for BCS championship are fading and may already be gone. They have to win the conference and run the table on the ret of the games to have any chance.

B.I.B.. gotta a news flash for you.. no one in the US cares about the America's Cup. It's football season!

Yup Larry Ellison got it wrong big time with his starting dates, and no one likes to see their team getting spanked like team USA/Oracle are.

Thanks for the link about Nevada marriage laws it is most useful.

San Francisco (AFP) - Oracle Team USA completed one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history to clinch the America's Cup with victory over Team New Zealand in a decisive duel for the 162-year-old trophy.

The defending champions crossed the finish 44 seconds ahead of challenger New Zealand to claim the coveted prize 9-8, having fought back from 8-1 down in the series.

"Man oh man, what a race," said USA skipper Jimmy Spithill on Wednesday.

"Facing the barrel of the gun at 8-1 and what do these guys do? They didn't even flinch."

Cheers erupted from flag-waving fans on the shore of San Francisco Bay and the US team exchanged hugs as the catamaran zipped past the pier next to the finish.

Billionaire yachtsman Larry Ellison, owner of the US team, hopped on board from a chase boat and took part in popping the champagne.

"The engineering team, the guys on the water finally broke the code and figured out what to do," Ellison said, giving much of the credit to Kiwi sailing legend and the team's chief executive Russell Coutts.

"He talked about sailing lower and faster instead of higher and slower. Russell Coutts has never lost an America's Cup, not a bad record. As long as Russell wants his job we are glad to have him."

But the result was greeted with despair in New Zealand where a one-word tweet from Prime Minister John Key summed up the mood of a nation: "Bugger.

Hi Pops I'm back from my holiday to San Fran and other places, and like Equation I even found myself momentarily falling in love with the local beauties. One of them was a charming 'Hooters' waitress.

I don't know how to post pictures but I've got some terrific photos of those big cats hooting along at 44knots, more if they hadn't lowered the allowed wind strength.

Actually I myself self don't care a toss who won the Americas Cup. I don't even like sailing but it's all good fun slagging the Americans for cheating.

Unfortunately most Nzders seem to have forgotten that A.C. Doesn't have a level playing field. But just in case you didn't know the American boat was built in N.Z. I don't know if it was designed there though. however the sailing crew consisted of seven Nzders two Australians and one Brit who used to be part of team NZ .and ONE AMERICAN, and as the article said the CE. Of the team was a Nzders. There was also a Paskitan Nzders computer whizz kid there who designed the real time analysis of the races so that a sailing plan could be put in place. Nz even built the iItalian boat.

Now how can you really call that Team America. Right after the competition, there was a story going around that a script had been presented to Hollywood.

Re: Sports thread; everything sport realted in here...

I've got a basketball question. Let's say we are at the last possession of the game. your team is up by 3 points and the opposing team has the possession of the ball. What do you do? I would foul the ball handler and let them shoot two foul shots and get the possession back. I would not risk their 3-point specialists shooting 3's and tie the game.

I asked this question because of last night's NBA game between Houston and Toronto. Houston led by 3 at the last possession and Toronto had the ball. Coach McKale decided not to foul and Gay made a 3 and tied the game, which ended up being dragged to 2 OT's. I got so frustrated when finding out that Coach McKale decided not to foul. And I got MAD when Gay drilled that 3-pointer and tied the game.:mad::mad:

So what would you do in that situation? I know I would foul.

Actually, they lost! Houston could've finished them off in regulation, but they needed two OT's to beat Toronto because of that decision by the coach not to foul...
