You just gotta give it time.

sort of like me and my Texas Rangers. The came to Arlington in 1971 when I was a teenager living on our ranch about 60 miles out of town.

They did not make it to the World Series until 2010, after 39 years...and then only won one game against the Giants. They repeated in 2011 and won three games, but still lost in seven to the Cardinals that year.

So...getting there is the first step...but then you gotta win. Like the poor Buffalo Bills and the Superbowl. They went four straight times...the only team to ever do that. The only problem is they lost them all.

At least my Dallas Cowboys have been to the Superbowl eight times (tied for the record), and won five of them. But they are in a real dry spell now, since the last super bowl win was in 1995.

My pro teams are the Dallas Cowboys (Super Bowl: 8 appearances, 5 wins), the Texas Rangers (World Series: 2 appearances, 0 wins), the Dallas Mavericks (NBA Championship: 2 appearances, 1 win), and the Dallas Stars (Stanley Cup: 1 appearance, 1 win).

I remember that 2011 world series. Was on a jetblue flight to LA for a friend's wedding when the game 6 was on. I just could not believe how many times the Rangers blew it that night. Got there, met my buddy from Dallas and he was describing to me how he cried from the night before. That's sports for you. Still, the rangers probably have the best shot of any Texas franchise now. Got the best GM in baseball and the best farm system imo.

Nothing personal, but I hate the Cowboys. I just hate Jerry Jones' guts :mad::mad: I got two cousins living in Dallas and they are all huge Cowboys fans. We always get into arguments when watching a Cowboys game. It's almost like a Thanksgiving event now. We decided to stay at home and not going to Dallas this past Thanksgiving and my cousins were telling me how quiet the house was without all the football arguments.

Jerry Jones is an unbelievably good business man when it comes to marketing, advertising, capitol investment (like the stadium), closing pure business deals, etc...put a horrible football mind. He wants to try and be GM and coach and ends up getting rid of anyone with a spine, particularly if they get too much attention. I do not like him either.

I hated the way he treated Landry at the end, and what he did to Jimmy Johnson was just completely assinine IMHO. The Cowboys could have won four (and maybe five) straight Super Bowls and yet he fires the guy (Jimmy Johnson) after he put together a team and then coached them to two straight superbowls because Johnson was getting too much "lime light," for Jones who is a media whoe IMHO.

Most unbelievable thing I ever saw.

If the truth be told, IMHO, he is the root of what is "wrong" with the Cowboys. Jones is so full of himself and so demanding of credit and attention, that he literally overshadows the whole team and the true winning spirit just can't develop there. When it did...and did well...under Jimmy Johnson, Jones snuffed it out. Plan and simple.

But owners will come and go, and I still have to root for the Cowboys.

Have to agree with you there. In 2011 I thought the Rangers had it sewed up. It was probably the best series in 30 years...and they ended up losing. But boy was it exciting.

ATLANTA (AP)

The clutch quarterback. The genius coach. The big-play defense.

The San Francisco 49ers are ready to start a new dynasty with a familiar formula.

Next stop, the Big Easy.

Colin Kaepernick and Frank Gore led San Francisco to a record comeback in the NFC championship game Sunday, overcoming an early 17-0 deficit to beat the Atlanta Falcons 28-24 and send the 49ers to their first Super Bowl since 1995.

I have to say that Balitmore has been a surprise for me this year.

I figured the 49ers were there, and I still have to go with them...but the way Baltimore played in the second half...if they can do that all game in New Orleans, they just may come home with the prize.

Li Na has reached another Tennis Major final. Shes certainly on a roll and has the capability of upsetting Azarenka. However Azarenka is probably in her prime years as a tennis player and had a easier run up to the final.

What ever the outcome Li Na is certainly a good roll model for all married women..... in that she gives all her earnings to her husband......;)

I believe Baltimore will win it too. Joe Flacco is just on a good roll. They reminds me of last year's Giant when they came into the super bowl with high momentum even though they were a wild card team to start.

I will be rooting for Li Na in the finals. Although I believe this new young American Sloan Stephens got "cheated" out of the finals because of that Azarenka "medical" time out call. I'm not be bias, just that she was on come back tear on the 2nd set before play stops that kills her momentum. I don't know all about tennis rules, but that was a little dirty of Azarenka to do that IMO.
