You were right Jeff, the Seahawks defeated the Redskins.
Ok, now we have four Divisional Games. They are

AFC:
Baltimore at Denver and I am going with Denver
Houston at New England and though New England should win, I am going with Houston to upset.

NFC:
Green Bay at San Francisco and I am going with San Francisco
Seallte at Atlanta and I am going with Seattle.

If I am right, that would make the Conference Championships the next week as follows:

AFC Championship:
Houston at Denver...and though Denver really should win, again, I am going to go with the Texans to upset.

NFC Championship:
Seattle at San Francisco and I am going with San Francisco.

That would mean the following in the Super Bowl:

San Francisco vs. Houston.

Now, if I am wrong and New England wins against Houston, then I pick them to beat Denver and go to the Superbowl against San Francisco.

Houston Texans all the way!!!
Being a native Texan myself, and allowing that the first professional "Texan" football team was the "Dallas Texans," who later became the Kansas City Chiefs, I am pulling for the Texans as well.

If they do it, they will richly deserve it because they have a HUGE mountain to climb that in all probability will lead them through the New England Patriots, the Denver Broncos, and the San Francisco 49ers...all of which will be favored to beat them.

But I believe they are capable of it...even though they had that downturn at the end of the year. We'll just have to root for them and see what happens.

So my favourite team "Patriots "are still in with a chance. Actually I don't care who wins as long as its a GOOD EXCITNG game.

Yep. Even if they can't do it this year, they will eventually do it based on their track record. They have been steadily improving ever since Kubiak took over. I think they might have lost focus a little bit at the end of the season since I don't think anyone including themselves expected to be in the position they were a month ago. I for one certainly didn't expect them to be 11:1. Another factor is injury. I truly wish they can win it all this year though...

The Pats are actually in very good shape. They will be favored over the Texans. I am hoping the Texans pull an upset and I too hope for a very good game.

Hard to bet against Brady though...but we shall see. Maybe the Texans will be the cinderalla team of 2013.

Re: Sports thread; everything sport realted in here...

well if anyone caught last night's BCS title game (which I didn't thankfully), it shows how much better SEC is over every other conference.

Now back to the pros, I'm cheering for the Broncos because I cheer for whoever Peyton Manning plays for.

Going to be Denver vs New England for AFC championship. Toss up for this one.

For NFC, picking Seahawks over Falcons and picking Packers over 49ers (although this one is a toss up for me).

imo, whoever wins between Broncos and Patriots will win the super bowl.

Good Lord, that Alabama team was like the 33rd NFL team out there playing against a good college team. They controlled the line of scrimmage on both side (offense and defense).

SAN FRANCISCO (AP)

The unproven kid thoroughly beat the former Super Bowl champion and reigning MVP.

With a strong arm that allowed him to pick the Packers apart from the pocket and speedy legs that helped him break free for big gains, Colin Kaepernick did a little bit of everything in a record-setting, sensational playoff debut - and Aaron Rodgers just couldn't keep up.

Kaepernick passed for 263 yards and ran the San Francisco 49ers right back to the NFC championship game with a 45-31 win over Green Bay in an NFC divisional game Saturday night.

Kaepernick rushed for a quarterback playoff record 181 yards and two touchdowns and threw two scoring passes to Michael Crabtree. Next up for the Niners: a game on Jan. 20 for a spot in the Super Bowl, against the winner of Sunday's game between the Seattle Seahawks and Falcons at Atlanta.

''It feels good. We're one step closer to where we want to be,'' Kaepernick said. ''I feel like I had a lot to prove. A lot of people doubted my ability to lead this team.''

And what a playoff debut it was by the second-year pro making just his eighth NFL start. No doubting Jim Harbaugh's big midseason gamble switching quarterbacks now.
