According to Captain小潇 on weibo, what we saw on 26th is a manned aircraft

Translation:
Last night, when talking to a big shot about the sixth generation aircraft of Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, one thing that can be confirmed is that the aircraft is a manned aerial vehicle, not a drone. It is a real teapot, not a teacup. It is reported that the aircraft made its maiden flight in November and only made its public appearance in mid December. Unlike the Big Triangle of CAC, the sixth generation aircraft of Shenyang Aircraft Corporation places more emphasis on air maneuverability and air superiority, and also takes into account carrier based capabilities. Both the north and south pursue long range, large payload, omnidirectional stealth performance, and high situational awareness, and can command drone operations.

At this point, no one other than 草根 claim it to be UAV. So I’m leaning towards it’s manned.
The wingspan seem to be pretty large.I wonder if it is a carrier-based version, and we’ll see an AF version in the future with smaller aspect ratio. Just like the relationship between J35 and J35A.

Indians have more clarity on their mind now. To me Americans on every internet platform except here still feel like having the same level of brain rot.
No my friend, these idiot indians now brag from a former HAL *manager* (IDRW website) that it will take india only 3 years to create a fully mature 5th gen fighter for their air force to tackle PLAAF.AS for Americans- I still have a great deal of respect for what the are ,have done and can do but this cultural /social decline is saddening and after 2 days of youtubing the Chinese 6th Gen (most videos are from india-hysterical,depressed,deranged etc-the words sound minded ,clarity and objectivity can't ever be associated with these nutcase brain-rotted indians in any way)

Greetings from a long time lurker of English language PLA watcher forums. I remember the days of seeing the first time reveal of the J10 and J20 fighters. I was using dial up Internet for the J10 if I recall and that the few soviet era sovremenny class destroyers were the PLAN's ace counter to the USN carrier strike groups.

I must say my mind has been blown from the last few days.

I remember Indian military forums at the time were sure the J20 was nothing but a balsa wood fake with a few CGI flights videos.

Even the most hardcore Wumaos love America for its power, but they love the America of Top Gun, of Jurassic Park, of Star Wars, of teen series and the Raptor, of Super Carriers, of blue collar workers who can afford spacious housing and send kids to college on income alone, of Saturn V and Space Shuttle… not whatever parody of a zombie we see today.

Is it too early to confirm that Chengdu's aircraft is the JH-XX fighter bomber and Shengyang's the next (6th) generation fighter?

Shengyang's design is a lot closer in size and form to what we expect 6th generation fighters to look like. Chengdu's aircraft seems far too unconventional to be a fighter and fits more into the fighter-bomber territory, with its triple engines, high wing area and engine intake from above. Intuitively, it seems to be a fast and high-flying missile truck that isn't particularly manuverable.

We need to stop boxing things into the fighter/bomber/fighter-bomber categories.
