is it that huge? 2000 pount jdam bomb kit is 3,9 m long and 0,6 m across, fins included. compared to the people around it, this doesn't seem to be any longer than that, perhaps it is even shorter.

Yeah, when this picture came out I thought it looked more like a larger LS-6 variant than a JSOW... no indication of propulsion, and doesn't seem to have any stealth shaping at all.

I'm sorry but whatever this HN series of cruise missiles is, it almost certainly doesn't exist. the only supposed info there is suggests it's a weapon with range similar to DH/CJ-10. I see no reason why the PLA would continue development on two missile programs with near identical uses. The fact that the "sources" of the HN cruise missiles are questionable and outdated makes me think it's something peddled by PLA fanboys.

My take is that HN is the aircraft launched version, DH is shipborne version, CJ is land based, they are the same missile. But what's a HN-III? Never heard of it.

People talk about HN-1, HN-2, HN-3 and HN-2000 (the stealth one in development). Is it true or bs?

Apparently from sinosoldier's pics HN-3 is supposed to be the stealthy one.

@ sinosoldier

The first picture and the scribd link make interesting reads, but I somewhat doubt their validity. the 2049 report says HN-3 (also called DH-10A, wtf?) is supposed to have been tested in 2004 and gone into production and is in service... yet we have no widely distributed pictures or rumours about it. Shedding more doubt, is that the standard DH-10 went into service around that time too. Something doesn't quite add up.

I'd like to know when the magazine scan was from though.
My idea is either this "HN-3" was under development for a while and then cancelled in favour for DH-10, or it was part of the whole chinese cruise missile fiasco in the years prior to DH-10's unveiling and was thus peddled by fanboys on the internet and regurgitated by unknowing western think tanks.

At the very least, the consensus should be HN-3 "probably" doesn't exist rather than it does.

AFAIK HN, CJ, and DH each only has one model in service right now, it's possible that there are other HN series air launched cruise missile in dev but that's about it. And I'm pretty sure the numbering didn't start with 1.
