Do you guys think if they modified the tail for future prototype model that significantly that it will be a all moving tail like the J-20's?

No, in fact the cropping is more likely "marketing" at this stage.

The updated scale model with the modified vertical stabilizers clearly has rudders.

At this stage, there is nothing to indicate that J-31, should the development continue, will have all-moving tails. Everything is purely speculative at this point.

Became there any details known during the Show regarding the potential timeline of the project - given a customer wants to buy a few ! - or even regarding the true status of a possible PLA-interest ??

It seems very likely that SAC and Chengdu are aware of the theories and concepts the other uses. Why should they be secret between parts of AVIC?

I believe AVIC1 said that there is a version of this fighter jet for PLA and another one for export. I would imagine the models they are showing will be very similar to what the export one will look like. As for PLA version, I would imagine that it would also look like that, bujt we won't know for sure until the next prototype comes out.

Remember, SAC also has J-15/J-16 production and the Lijian development that it is working on. A lot of work they have in front of them.

The F-35 does have some sleek, detailed contouring, though. Something that AVIC hasn't, quite yet, grasped!

More like bulbous, bumpy contouring. That said, it is meant to haul bigger diameter bombs, so they've gotten what they've paid for

As already posted a few months back, the official helmet mounted sight is officially unveiled.







As expected, the EOTS an potential EODAS on the fighter will provide information directly to the pilot.
