New images of J31. Enjoy!

The weapon bay does look bigger than I expected.

Bay is almost J-20 sized, undoubtedly designed to accept PL-12 missiles.

Out of curiosity, when were the photos taken? Recently or when the J-31 first flew? I don't remember any image of the weaponsbay before.

Surely not from the first flight or within the first half of the yaer, since during this timeframe we have not seen any images with the gear up. Also - I need to check when exactly - these yellow corners around the w-bay are quite recent additions.
If not recently taken I would say between October last year and now.

Alert 5 (a military aviation blog) reported US Under Sectary of Defense said China may export the J-20. If the report is accurate, then what happens to the J-31?

U.S. expects China to export J-20
The U.S. Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics told Congress that the Pentagon is expecting China to export the J-20 to other nations.

Frank Kendall warned that while the United States is unlikely to enter into a conflict with China, the U.S. could still face weapons that the latter exports.

It's possible Mr. Kendall meant the J-31, referred to it only as a "stealth fighter" and the reporters assumed that Chinese stealth fighter equals the J-20 (the transcript of the testimony isn't online yet, so we can't check for now).
