Shenyang FC-31 / J-31 Fighter Demonstrator

The J-31 nose is hexagonal like that of the J-20 or F-35. The bottom view look more like the F-35 but without the bulges.

It's possible the J-31 will simply inherit the J-10B AESA; the size is about comparable so it'll be easy to just install the 1150 module AESA.

Thanks to stealth, planes appear almost identical these days. Which is fine, because at least now, people can focus on the real meat, like the avionics, engines, and what new marvelous materials the plane is made out of.

Just like UCAVs. No one cares about the looks. They just want to know what weapons it can carry, how smart its computer is, etc.

"Wow! It's a new UCAV from (*Any country*)!" Hmmm, this new UCAV looks like... Every. Other. UCAV. Ever.

..."But this one shoots lasers." . Or something like that.

What's that you say? Skunk Works and Phantom Works are keeping it secret so we don't know? Hummm wasn't you the one that keep insisting China can't landing J-15 without a BOOM unless they show us the picture? And since they don't have the picture means they can't do it? You know what?
