Wait. How can you guys know the pictures are Chinese? Just because they are posted on Chinese websites?

That's come to my mind as well -- I think we can't know if the RCS testbed or the drawings are chinese, but the wind tunnel testing is. Note the RCS testbed seems to be equipped with PL-8s, so that's something.

Can't be sure. One of the them has long been confirmed to be Chinese. I don't know about the drawings at all.

The RCS tested...who knows? I don't have any idea what plane it is though.

I see the "AVIC I" label on the 'wind tunnel' picture, so we assure that it is Chinese (if not PSed). Let's talk about it.

The plane is double engine, lateral intakes look similar to of the F-22 but might be DSI, flat bottom. The wings layout look similar to of the F-16. This gives me the idea this is the upgrade/double engine version of the FC1/JF-17. Your idea?

That picture came out years ago, I thought the consensus was it was SAC's wind tunnel testing for its J-XX proposal/something derived from its J-XX proposal?

Well, the label is AVIC I which I think should CAC, how you think that it is SAC. Further, judging from the layout of the plane, don't you think it look very similar of the FC1/JF-17?

The first picture of yours even states that it is the newest version of the J-8! OK, it's a fail project after all. However, I don't like its wing layout. It's outdated. Maybe they should try something similar to F-22 or T-50.

I think AVIC 1 included SAC. And the wing resemblance to JF-17 I think looks quite superficial.

Something rather interesting. From 5:30mins onwards...

"News of J-20 flying demo received positive comments... J-18 VTOL-Stealth jet leaked out, carrying out intense experiments now."

Reports from Pheonix TV

Not sure about the J-18 though as reports said that the plane is now in Chengdu as well. Programme is in Chinese.
