Great finally, let us see the first units of Su-57 in service so we can put the entire silly charade of speculations to rest.

Only one production model is supposed to be delivered in 2019. And, iirc, another single aircraft next year.

I would not expect to see any Su-57 "in service" any time soon.

I've just begun to watch, am quickly linking
from this МАКС-2019

I will say it again, the "Russians are Master Showmen!", nobody else is going to show you this type of on the edge of aerodynamic/OVT control flying display!

Having said that, the Su-57 is an aerodynamic beast, I would remember that these birds are "strippers", like the "Streak Eagle", they are very light, they are not operational aircraft off the flight line somewhere. (all F-22 and F-35 demo aircraft are operational birds).

Never going to see the J-20 or even the F-22 flown this far over the edge, never, ever, couldn't happen in the USAF!

If we were able and did such things, this video should be a "sticky", its very good, and my compliments! MAKs 2019

well while watching I was thinking how dangerous it is to fly THAT close to each other

anyway here's the link to what TheAvionist had to say

So here we have Bort 051, 052, and 055, three of the earliest prototypes, in a flying display at MAKs 2019. Beautiful airplanes, awesome flying display, but each of these airframes have significant "history"?

051 was grounded, and pronounced by many "internet experts" as unlikely to ever fly again, due to very significant airframe cracking, as you can see it was taken down to the "scuppers" and rebuilt/strengthened and does indeed still fly today!

055 burnt on roll-out after a test flight due to an engine fire, the 056 fuselage was "pirated" off the "line", and built into a "reborn", 055, which had the first "pixelated" camo paint, it was/is gorgeous!

052 was also subject to some structural cracking and rebuilt as well!

Each of these airframes has had major structural repair, one is actually two different airframes? 055/056

I've got to admit, each of these airframes performing at MAKs 2019 is a minor miracle! but that also brings us to the reality of the Su-57, it still has a long way to go, the Russians expect to build 1 "LRIP" airplane this year, and 1 next year.....

It is an awesome flight display, the Su-57 the most beautiful airplane on the planet?? maybe, I give them all that and more, but still?

... maybe, I give them all that and more, but still?
... still they (Su-57s) hardly make any difference militarily, in fact I think basically the same as Feb 8, 2016
I normally don't post conjecture :) but now I will:
the negativity about "stealth aircraft", which one often finds in Russian Internet, calls for a question
Why Does Russia Bother With PAKFA?
and I think that's because they need 5th Gen aircraft to tweak their radars against 5th Gen aircraft, I mean to look what actually shows once a Swarm comes, a Squadron comes, how many aircraft passed undetected at these conditions etc. etc. Once they evaluate it, they'll see like "The Nyebo works!" or "oops, we need more PAKFAs!"
(and their mass production would prove me wrong)
