We have seen a number of successful Kh-31P attacks recently against radars. Didn't take long for the export promo sales pitch to come out. The Kh-31PD is a modernized one for what is now an old and venerable missile design.

I'm surprised the range is up to 250km, which is double of the Kh-31P in the state it was sold to China for the Su-30MKK long ago. The missile can be instrumental, along with Lancets, in hitting air defense and counter battery radars.

No. Even Russian Kh-31P and Kh-31A have similar range as export one.

Kh-31PD or in Russian designated as Kh-31PM was a new variant which said to have made use of work performed by Boeing during MA-31 target drone procurement program. The Russian made that Boeing's improvement to extend the range of the Kh-31 and in the meantime also improve the electronics too. Including a true wideband seeker. Thus alleviating the previous needs to have 3 seeker heads that covers limited amount of frequencies.

Russia may start using the new 2S40 Phlox rapid-fire self-propelled guns. The 2S40 Floks 120-mm self-propelled artillery gun is mounted on the Ural-4320VV chassis and was first shown in 2016. The self-propelled gun is equipped with a gun developed on the basis of 2A80 from self-propelled guns 2S31 "Vena", this gun combines the main qualities of guns, howitzers and mortars, which allows the use of various ammunition, including foreign production. The gun is equipped with a modern recoil system. This solution, together with modern electronics, can reduce the time to fire to 20 seconds. The self-propelled guns weighing 20 tons are armored and protect the crew from bullets and an explosion of up to 5 kg of TNT. ACS "Floks" is equipped with a modern digital weapon-computer system, which is able to perform many tasks in automatic mode. Real-time information is sent to the crew monitors in the cockpit, which allows you to quickly respond to the situation. ACS can exchange data with other machines and store up to 30 targets in memory at the same time, working on them one by one. The 2S40 gun is the fastest firing in the world in its caliber, the rate of fire of the Phlox self-propelled guns reaches 10 rounds per minute. There are 28 shells in the automated ammunition rack of the self-propelled guns and 52 are in conventional stacks. The ACS is equipped with a system for detecting laser irradiation and setting smoke screens. The installation is equipped with a remotely controlled combat module with a Kord machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber. The firing range of the self-propelled guns is up to 13 km, the crew of the vehicle is 4 people.

Russian SAM Tor inside and the work of its operators. A serviceman with a call sign with the call sign "Strizh" showed the Tor air defense system inside and the work of the operators of this complex. SAM Tor was put into service in 1986.

That's the old Tor.

The early tor system have rather unique design in its phased array engagement radar. It only scans 7 Degrees electronically. This was done through use of Thinned array, using about 500 radiators with 3 wavelength spacings, to maximize antenna gain while at the same time reducing cost. If further scans required it is achieved by physically move the antenna.

Newer Tor however apparently abandoned this approach for more "traditional" Full field of view phased array.

A lot of these projects are based on the BMD-4M chassis which has been highly successful. The latest version Sprut-SDM1 and BTR-MDM are examples of this. You can check if it is the new chassis by looking at the roadwheels.

The new chassis is based on the BMP-3 component base and has a higher power engine and better mechanical reliability. Since it uses the BMP-3 component base, it has common parts with it including engine and road wheels, simplifying the logistical chain for ground forces. Beforehand the airborne vehicles used completely different component base.
