The armored repair plant handed over to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation modernized armored personnel carriers BTR-82AM

The press service of UVZ reported that the components and assemblies of the transmission, chassis, electronic and special equipment of the machines were restored in accordance with the requirements of the repair documentation

MOSCOW, 7 December. /TASS/. The armored repair plant (BTRZ, part of the Uralvagonzavod concern, UVZ, Rostec state corporation) has supplied the Russian Ministry of Defense with modernized BTR-82AM armored personnel carriers. This was reported to TASS in the press service of UVZ.

"JSC 81 BTRZ has carried out scheduled repairs with the modernization of BTR-80 armored personnel carriers. Combat vehicles have been brought to the form of BTR-82AM, passed all types of tests and were accepted by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense," the concern said.

They noted that the components and assemblies of the transmission, chassis, electronic and special equipment of the machines were restored in accordance with the requirements of the repair documentation. The power unit, fighting compartment and components of 100% shiftability were replaced with new ones. The work performed made it possible to increase the firepower and mobility of the combat vehicle, UVZ noted, emphasizing that some of the spare parts were manufactured by the plant.

The upgraded armored personnel carrier BTR-82AM surpasses the base model (BTR-80) in terms of firepower. If the BTR-80 was equipped with only 14.5-mm and 7.62-mm machine guns, then the upgraded BTR-82AM is armed with a 30-mm 2A72 automatic cannon and a 7.62-mm PKTM machine gun coaxial with it in the combat module. The modernized machine is equipped with a digital two-plane weapon stabilizer. BTR-82AM is equipped with a 300 hp engine, it is equipped with a new generation of communications, such as a digital radio station R-168 and a system of orientation on the ground "Tron-1". BTR-82AM is equipped with additional anti-fragmentation protection.

S350 is first modern system but just deploying thats we see gaps in intercepting smaller UAVs.
and than end statement if a state is far politically and socially than full range of offensive weopons.

At the beginning of 2022, the anti-aircraft missile regiment of the 4th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District became the first in the country to begin re-equipment with the latest S-350 Vityaz mobile anti-aircraft missile system of short and medium range. The novelty developed by the Almaz-Antey Concern VKO carries 12 anti-aircraft missiles on one launcher, surpassing similar systems in this parameter, and is distinguished by increased noise immunity of the radar complex. The S-350 interfaces with all air defense systems, can receive information from other complexes and systems, working as a second echelon in conjunction with the S-400 air defense system, increasing the density of anti-aircraft fire. Depending on the type of missiles used, the S-350 is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 120 km and an altitude of up to 25 km.

The system turned out to be good, compact, it performs all functions with a serious overlap of the combat capabilities of its predecessors. The fundamental difference between the Vityaz and all other complexes of this class is the ability to quickly target missiles and view space. This system is capable of effectively hitting not only existing air attack weapons , but also promising," said Yan Novikov, CEO of the concern, in an interview with National Defense magazine

"The Americans also understand that Russia is not yet using its full range of offensive weapons, which it could use if it were not about Ukraine, but a state far from us politically and socially. Therefore, realizing this, they are encouraging the Ukrainians, but they themselves At the internal level, they understand that Ukraine will not win this war," Mikhailov concluded. Viktor Bodrov

Vityaz was a very long story to say the least... The components had been in development since 1990's. The early warning asset, 96L6VP and passive station 96L6TsP existed as early as 1998. The 9m96 missiles were even longer maybe dated in late 80's. I feel it's actually much closer to European Aster and American ERINT missile in terms of comparison.

Comparison between NASAMS and Buk kinda interesting as it's historically a repeat of comparison between Hawk and 2K12 Kub. The NASAMS may not be as "mobile" but well the system components can be moved by any chassis, even airlifted with Chinooks similar as Hawk. In the other hand NASAMS does not really have anti-missile capability unlike Buk which have one. Each launcher of Buk is self contained fire-unit that can operate independently in terms of producing firing solution and guide the missile. NASAMS entirely reliant on external designation for engagement.

The 12 missile per launcher was shown very recently like in past 10 years or so. i think the internal electronics are upgraded to deal with low altitude target at .01km height.
Another important thing is BukM3 is army defense system that works in open field while S350 is for protecting airbases and industrial. Airdefense system in cities will be always more advanced to engage missiles among buildings.
speed of engagement S-350 is 2km/sec. this export version.

Exercises on assembling and firing from the Russian ATGM "Fagot" by mobilized military personnel at one of their training grounds. The Russian ATGM "Fagot" was put into service in 1970, the firing range of the complex is up to 3000 meters, the rate of fire is 3 rounds per minute. The flight time of the rocket to the maximum range: 11 seconds, the rocket is guided by an optical sight and controlled by wires. The armor penetration of the Fagot anti-tank missile system is up to 600mm.
