China's declining demographics along the northern borders with Mongolia and Russia say otherwise.

I keep seeing this argument being used but I don't really see anything that makes China's declining demographics any worse than everybody else's. As a matter of fact, the average age of China's population is the pretty much the same as that of the US, and as overall, Europe and Japan are in much, much worse position.

I hadn't seen this image before. Apparently this downed Ka-52 had most of its equipment removed and its being rigged for destruction by russian soldiers

The armored glass took quite a beating

Roscosmos plans to start shipping Sarmat missiles to armed forces in fall - company CEO

The Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile was first launched from the Plesetsk space site in the Arkhangelsk Region on Wednesday

MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. Shipments of volume-produced Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles to the Strategic Missile Forces will start this fall, Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin said.
"Following flight tests of the Sarmat, we plan to start shipments of volume produced heavy intercontinental ballistic missiles of this super weapon to the Strategic Missile Forces this fall," he said on Telegram.
The Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile was first launched from the Plesetsk space site in the Arkhangelsk Region on Wednesday.
The objectives of launch were fully accomplished, and the design specifications were confirmed at all stages of the missile’s flight. Test warheads arrived at a designated area at the Kura test ground in Kamchatka. The Uzhur missile unit in the Krasnoyarsk Region is working to prepare one missile regiment to be rearmed with the new missile system.

The range of the Sarmat warheads has been expanded in terms of the number of warheads and their types, including gliding hypersonic warheads. The missile was developed by the Makeyev State Missile Center and is produced at the Krasmash plant. Both are Roscosmos units. Analysts say the missile can deliver a warhead weighing up to 10 tons to any location across the world over the South and North poles.
10 tons ! Would be interesting to know the cost of such missile, probably bloody costly. But a conventional warhead option would be epic.

The estimated cost of the Sarmat program in 2011 was 77 billion rubles.

"На разработку и производство ракетных комплексов по Госпрограмме вооружений до 2020 года будет выделено 77 миллиардов рублей По словам премьер-министра Владимира Путина 15 миллиардов из них -.. На предприятий развитие Половина из выделенных на предприятия денег будет направлена на модернизацию производства Красноярского машиностроительного завода под выпуск новых ракет."

As the source indicates that of the 77 billion, 15 billion would be for the modernization of production plants to support the missile manufacturing process by updating the machines and the operating production sector, 62 billion rubles would be spent on the development and production of the missiles. .

As it aims to replace the R-36M which has between 46 units to 58 units, the declared value in 2011 for the RS-28 Sarmat is 1.3 billion rubles (46 units) or 1 billion rubles (58 units), if we keep the 2011 ruble value for current pricing, the value would be US$44.8 million for each missile if it is 46 units or US$34.4 million if it is for 58 units. If converting the missile value to the current exchange rate, the price of each Sarmat would cost US$17.3 million for 46 units or US$13.3 million for a total of 58 units.

Borisov claims a “unique opportunity” has opened for Russian aircraft manufacturers to fill a niche, and change the proportion of domestically-built types – pointing out that, during the time of the Soviet Union, all aircraft were domestically produced. “This practice needs to be restored,” he says.
State technology firm Rostec says the priorities for the air transport industry are to avoid maintenance downtime for the current fleet owing to a lack of foreign parts, and to reconfigure “in the shortest possible time” the country’s current aviation programmes.

Rostec says the aim is to put more than 500 domestically-built aircraft on the market by 2030, from the five main programmes – the MC-21, Superjet 100, Il-114-300, Tu-214 and Il-96.
