"We cooperate [with China] in the security area," he said during his annual news conference. "China’s armed forces are equipped with the most advanced weapons systems to a large extent."

"We are even developing together certain high-tech types of weapons," the president went on to say. "We are working in space, aircraft areas. On planes and helicopters."

The armed forces of the two countries also cooperate, Putin said.

It is but that’s only in optimal conditions stripped down. Even then it’s on a dash. However as it’s a jet liner and not a fighter that dash is of limited value. Even as a private jet the primary mode of operating is cruise. The aim being to offer the passengers a silky smooth ride with the maximum comfort. As such speed is less value than poshness.
here is 2017 version of SBJ. The average speed is 870 km/hr and 4600km range. if they are putting this on website for commercial booking than they are guaranntee the load capacity with bags and three service people. Sukhoi avg speed is higher than Airbus A320.

I think I recall the Russians believe in making sure the dumb bombs work with everything because they believe wars will last longer than the stockpiles of smart weapons can last.
Also, they have tons of stockpiles left from soviet times, so better make use of them while smart munition production ramps up.

The War Zone trying to push a David vs. Goliath narrative. Apparently Ukraine's air force has gained tons of valuable experience in the last few years but the same logic doesn't seems to apply to Russia's experience in Syria.

Western ideological narratives are incapable of giving any credit to non-western aligned groups, but as the Taliban demonstrated the actual state of capabilities is quite a ways different than what said narratives are pushing.

MC-21 plane with Russian-made composite wing performs first flight

According to Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov, the share of composite materials in the MC-21 plane is about 40%, which is the record high for planes of this class

MC-21 passenger plane Rostec press office

MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/. The newest Russian MC-21 passenger plane with a domestically-designed composite wing carried out its first flight, Rostec press office announced Saturday.
"Today, the MC-21-300 plane with a wing produced from Russian-made polymer composite materials has performed its first flight. The plane took off from the Irkutsk Aviation Plant airstrip. The flight proceeded as planned," the company said.
The domestic materials for the wing’s bearing frame were developed in cooperation between Rosatom, Moscow State University scientists and aviation industry specialists.
According to Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov, the share of composite materials in the MC-21 plane is about 40%, which is the record high for planes of this class.

"The use of sturdy and lightweight composite materials made it possible to develop a wing with unique aerodynamic parameters, impossible for a metal wing. The improved aerodynamic made it possible to widen the MC-21 body and make the cabin wider, providing better comfort to the passengers," Chemezov said.
