In Central Aero hydrodynamic Institute. prof. NE Zhukovsky completed the first phase of comprehensive research of reusable launch vehicles ( MRKN ) . TsAGI specialists formed promising proposals for improvement of the launch system developed by MV Khrunichev Khrunichev in cooperation with more than twenty companies of the aerospace industry.
It is planned that the new family will remove MRKN payloads weighing 20 to 60 tons without taking into account of first stage, which is a qualitatively new step in the national rocket.
Experimental studies were carried out in the department of research aerothermodynamics hypersonic aircraft and objects rocket and space technology. In subsonic and hypersonic wind tunnels carried weight and thermal tests, during which identified major issues aerothermodynamics.
Experimental studies on the return rocket block landing modes revealed a number of critical features, after which analysis TsAGI scientists gave important recommendations for further improvement of aerodynamic configuration.
Another important part of the research was the work of another department - aerodynamics propulsion. Experts estimate the layout of the power plant unit returned with three bypass turbojet engines, overall features of the input and output devices and their characteristics for subsonic flight. As a result, the most rational options selected input device two options return the rocket block, as well as recommendations to change the shape of internal channels.
"In general, the work done contains extensive research materials, offer a real scientific and technological capacity in the short term, creating a qualitatively new reusable launch vehicle with cruise blocks of the first stage.
