This months air force monthly has a section so vast on Russian aviation it covers almost 1/3 of the entire magazine

From pages 43 onwards it goes right through every major aircraft, and I do not want to begin to even try ands scan it!!!

they will get first 60 T-50s, and 120 Su-34, T-50 might get up to 200 or more.
su-34 might go beyond
This is one of the latest Su-35 delivered to the Russian air force.

I am also an aeromodelist my self, i love Su-34

Not to change the topic, MiG-29 ..... but does Russia plan to build more Aircraft Carriers in the near or distant future?

I have seen pictures where both the Su-35 Super Flanker and Su-34 Fullback have similar dark-grey paint-scheme. Would this become the standard on all Su-35s and Su-34s? I quite like the new look, makes the aircraft look really nice!

@Dizasta1, They claim They will build more carriers, but no Steel Cutting yet. Personalty I think they are going too wait until they get a few years of operating the Mistral class Amphibious assault ships under there belt first.

I suspect they want to try and adapt the azimuth thruster system too there new carrier. As well as see If they can learn f from the Communications, Lift and Radar systems then Leverage them into the New Design.
My Watch list is this.
1 Updates of Russian Carrier born fighter Aircraft. ( already done but for the Indian navy. )
2 Construction and shake Down of the Russian built Mistral
3 flight testing of a new naval AEW fixed wing ( possibly based on the SU80 ot updates of YAK44 or AN71 I side with the SU80 at it seems almost like the preliminary work is already done and it would allow a cost savings via sharing components.)
4 increased activity of the deck of the Kuznetsov.
5 model shows. IE the Russians Showing off a Carrier model like the Chinese have been doing.
6 Steel cutting

Up to what i have read, Russia plans to build new aircraft carriers, but they only are now designing it, not building it.

About the camuflage, i have read some people did not like it, so they will change it again
Here you see the top russian fighters

Russia had what, 10 of the SU-35S (or SU-35BM) by the end of 2012?

I believe they are slated to increase that number to 48 by the end of 2014. It will be interesting to see how many they will take delivery of before the SU-50 comes on line...and even then, whether the much more expensive SU-50 will then continue as the sole procurement for the future fighter needs of Russia.

The US ended up building less than 190 F-22s, although they could start production back up in the future if necessary.

It will be interesting to see if the Russians build that many SU-50s or more...or, if the simply end up with something like 200 of those and a lot more SU-35s.

Time will tell.

In my opinion they are going for for realitic goals, 48 Su-35 by 2016 is a realistic goal, they might build more, in my opinion but it will depend in their economy, but i think they will buy around 100 Su-35s

The issue Jeff is that USN is pouring everything into the Pacific

That leaves UK and France to tie down the Russians, infact part of the influence for the 2 Queen Elizabeth carriers came from the fact that Russia is on a spending spree again and building up its navy at a fast pace, with SSBN and SSN like the Borey Class and Yasen Class now emerging from Russian shipyards the focus is now on Putins new "100" ship navy

UK has a long Cold War experience and it's geographic location means it will always have its resources tied by the Russians, since 2009 RAF has been intercepting 1 Russian aircraft every month, and Norway scrambled its F16 41 Times intercepting 71 aircraft coming down from the North, in 2011 it was 34 scrambles to shadow 48 aircraft

The numbers are increasing all the time, a Russian nuclear attack submarine deployed to the Atlanic last year reaching all the way to the Gulf of Mexico, where was the Royal Navy Type 45 DDG???

Royal Navy recently concluded that their two carriers will be likely seeing action in Altanic, West Africa and Artic rather than Pacific and Middle East

Together UK and France can deploy a dozen nuclear attach submarines and 3 carriers, that's enough to engage the Russians but then what about other commitments to NATO? Operations East of Suez? Russia is claiming Lomonosov ridge very cheeky indeed, so things only going to get busier on the high seas

US has much more assets no argument there, but USN has commitments over the world, Russian is sending everything to Artic and pushing Atlanic operations they are not so much focused in Pacific

I seriously hoped Royal Navy had 12 Type 45, they could sit in the North Sea and hold off entire Russian air force
