Well an American Manufacture and a few others would have near Clean room regs. Russian Manufacturers seem a bit more lax. IT's one of a lot of things like that. I remember years back there was a documentary on PBS's Nova Where American Tourists were paying for flights on Russian Air force fighters. The Russian Flight line was interesting... I have been on a few USAF bases there flightlines are Immaculate, Gulf Course Grounds keepers would love them. the Pavement is clean the Grass is cut to the micron. a pro Gulf tour could be invited to play and feel right at home. The Russian Fields were hideous. Rusting Birds parked in the long grass. cracked asphalt, rusted hangers. presumably some of that has cleaned up but some of it was not the money some of it was mind set. There is only one American Jet that would look just at home on a Russian Airbase. the A10 Why? Because the Russians had the same ideas in mind for all there fighters. They wanted a rough field plane with a big cannon and weapons that could take off without a care if Fod was blowing everywhere. They expect debris on the aircraft. there is a joke about the AK that it works better with a little dirt in the receiver.

Of course, I could not independently confirm authenticity .

You might be right, But last I heard she was in a very poor state, good enough for scrapping. I saw some internal images from the ship and made me cry when you saw what was in these images. Anyway if anyone has information either about refitting or scrapping her can you let us know.

The article was dated September 22, 2014. Anyway I did a little search and came upon the link shown below - Follow link : Russian text

God knows what are they planning with that ship. There was decision In 2012. to scrap it , but since that time lot of things have changed . As the text says , they would not bother to remove old paint and rust if they just want to scrap it . On the other hand, vessel was in pretty bad shape, it could be cheaper to build new ship then to restore this one .

Now that what I kinda expected as an answer, but if there is any news guys please pass it on here. Also any new images close up. Kinda helps me when it comes to detailing my model and at scale 1/72 - 3.5m I need all the pictures I can get.
Kinda like the picture here.

MiG is 75 years old today.

The Mikoyan and Gurevich Design Bureau, now known as the Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG, was founded on December 8, 1939. Aircraft designed by the bureau became the mainstay of the Soviet and Russian air forces, and have been widely used by armed forces all across the world.

A few nice pictures on the Russian news site
