Well, since Russia cannot construct anything new larger than a destroyer currently, all this drone carrier is just empty talk. The same goes with the current carrier, since it is beyond the scope of shipyards to repair in reasonable time frames. Looking back the best choice would be for the ship to be repaired in Chinese shipyards but this is out of the question now since the ship is too old.

Correction, can't construct anything larger than a frigate. I don't believe any new destroyers entered service since the collapse of the USSR. Refurbished ones, sure, but no newly designed, newly constructed destroyers.

Project 19510 - 70000 tons.

Russia has like two shipyards which can build large carriers. Zvezda in the Pacific and Sevmash in the Atlantic. Zvezda can build them as is, Sevmash would need a larger basin.

Zaliv shipyard in Kerch can build mid sized carriers.

Baltic shipyard in St. Petersburg can build cruisers. They used to build Kirov class ships.

Yantar shipyard in Kaliningrad and Severnaya Verf in St. Petersburg can build destroyers. They used to build Udaloy class ships.

It is just that it makes little sense to build large ships when you don't even have enough small ones. The corvette and frigate program was delayed like a decade with sanctions after invasion of Crimea.

It is expected that Amur shipyard in the Pacific will start building frigates.

Ships, Subs, drones and ice breakers in Navy doctrine 2050 every thing connected to Space. I dont see Aircraft carrier with its deficient systems like small AWACS can stand some thing like Tu-160M2 when you see the power difference.
Drones are much lighter (foldable/unscrew) with increase automation much less human involvement for entire ship. Drones should be able to lunch antiship missiles along with survellence for long range hypersonic missiles. they are already put radar on Forpost-R which provide guidance to ship launched missiles. Definition of Blue water navy need to change considering the tech advancements.
When they talk about resource they talk about Arctic so system should designed for Arctic. Even the Kama Atom EV they took on Ice breaker to test all the systems.

Experts: Russia to become leader in rare earth metals mining

In particular, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences Nikolai Pokhilenko stated that demand "will grow very sharply"
MOSCOW, June 9. /TASS/. Russia could become a leader in the extraction and processing of rare earth metals (REM), the deficit of which the global industry will face from 2030, if it manages to create the necessary infrastructure and comfortable conditions for business in the Arctic, Nikolai Pokhilenko, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences, told TASS.

MOSCOW, December 28. /TASS/. Russian scientists have discovered that a wide-bandgap semiconductor they created based on one form of gallium oxide has a unique form of conductivity in which "holes" - positively charged areas - play a key role. This discovery will expand the use of gallium oxide in power electronics, the press service of NUST MISIS reported on Wednesday.
According to the researchers, this discovery, as well as the theoretical explanation they have prepared for the existence of "hole" conductivity, will accelerate the development of new types of transistors characterized by high electron mobility. They are the basis for high-frequency microcircuits used in radio astronomical devices, communication systems and radars. The use of gallium oxide in their manufacture will significantly improve the quality of these devices, the researchers concluded.

Footage of the launch of the updated Russian drone "Lancet-51", officially called "Product 51", by ZALA. The video shows the new launcher that we showed earlier. The updated drone "Lancet-51" is equipped with a new battery, camera and communications equipment. Presumably, it can now fly at a range of up to 100 km. The drones have a homing system for the target. The launch is carried out by servicemen of the 346th Guards Special Forces Brigade, the "South" group of troops. It is worth noting that the British Ministry of Defense called the Lancet drones one of the best combat systems.

The Burden of Repairs: The Cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov May Be Sold for Scrap Metal

lThe Russian Defense Ministry may refuse to restore the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, Izvestia has learned. Its repair and modernization have currently been suspended , the publication's sources reported. The Main Command of the Navy and the United Shipbuilding Corporation will soon have to decide the fate of the Russian fleet's flagship. The morally and physically outdated aircraft carrier may be decommissioned and sent for disposal, experts do not rule out. Their opinions on the need to have such ships in the Navy are divided: some say that they are indispensable, while others consider aircraft carriers a relic of the past. Admiral Kuznetsov has been modernized since 2017, and during the repairs, the largest floating dock in the Russian Federation sank, and a major fire occurred on the aircraft carrier.
...
A possible decision to stop the repairs would be absolutely correct, former Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Sergei Avakyants told Izvestia. In his opinion, the Russian Navy does not need the Admiral Kuznetsov even if modernization is carried out.
— In the long term, the Russian Navy does not need aircraft carriers in their classic form. An aircraft carrier is a thing of the past. A huge, expensive structure that can be destroyed in a few minutes by modern weapons, — the admiral believes. — This is a very expensive and ineffective naval weapon. The future belongs to carriers of robotic systems and unmanned aircraft. And if a decision is made not to continue repairs, the only thing left to do is to take the Admiral Kuznetsov, cut it up for scrap metal and dispose of it."

Also, that aside - If the Kuznetsov's scrapping did go through, that means Kuznetsov and her twin sister ex-Varyag would never have a chance to reunite (where both are in operational status) ever since their forceful separation in December 1991.

Kinda sad when you think about it.

Time for Xu Zengping (Chong Lot Limited) to submit an unsolicited bid to make a floating hotel and casino in Macau. This time, for real, I really really promise.
Mr. Xu retired many years ago and he has been out of the focus of the media. My advice to Russian is to give it to Indian as a free gift. Then just let Indian handle it by themselves. Most likely, Indian will come back to ask Russian for help for upgrade.
