Those are MRBM and IRBM. Russia and USA can't make them due to mutually agreed treaty limitations (Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty). Even ground based LACM beyond a certain range is not allowed. SRBM like Iskander-M and ATACMS are allowed.
China does not have that limitation. Thats why they can produce ballistic missiles like DF-21, DF-26 and ground launched DF-10.

I remember reading around the time China's ASBM got a lot of news and questions that the Soviets are the only other country that ever had an ASBM program. The reason why there were skeptics China could ever make it work was because the US never thought it would work meaning they never had one that worked or they never even tried.

Missiles that had to be scrapped included BGM-109G, Pershing 1A/II from the US side and RK-55, RSD-10 from the soviets. R-27K ASBM also had to be scrapped under a different treaty (SALT).
China has no such limitations other than global treaties like CTBT, NPT, etc. This is why the Russians might decide to violate or even move out of the INF treaty. Iskander-K ground launched LACM has an official range of less than 500 km but the actual range might be much much higher. One major concern for the Russians is the proliferation of MRBM and IRBM including the massive Chinese arsenal. Russia, if they decided could develop a wide variety of maneuverable quasi MRBM & IRBM as well as subsonic & supersonic ground launched LACM with ranges far exceeding 500 km.

Well if you read some of my earlier posts, my grind was never about bashing the Russians into oblivion. But rather its the pre notion fact that somehow every single piece of Russian equipment would be superior to whatever China can come up with, and that China must acquire it automatically is what bothers me.
The S-400 is a great SAM don't get me wrong, but is it so great till the point that the PLA must have it at all costs ? That's skeptical.

I think that's a lil over exergeration here..I don't believe anyone here is saying Russian tech is superior in all areas. In fact one can even argue that some members here sees Chinese tech as superior over all others.

Not really any different from believing anything China develops that performs better than the competition or they don't even have has to have been stolen from them. Can't steal something that performs better or don't even have themselves. If the goal is to be annoying... mission accomplished.
