EF can't go against the Su-35? Dude, the EF may be overpriced, but the only equivalent to it is the F-22. Did you know that the EF outmanuevered TWO F-15's and locked onto one of them? Can an Su-35 do that? Also, the Typhoon will probably be able to lock and shoot down the Su-35 even before the Su-35 gets a chance to detect the Typhoon.

To jatt, I doubt India is going for the Rafale. Like Tphuang said, most likely it will be the Mig-35 or the Mig-29OVT. Why? Well, why would India want to buy Rafales when they are already making the PAK-FA with the Russians? And the Mig class aircraft are much cheaper yet they pack a pretty heavy punch (the Mig-35 is about equivalent to the Block 60 F-16).

Hum...outmanoeuvered two F15. Don't understand why the US ditched the design of the X31 then? Simple it was a dead end. The frame is so old. Any way. Future will tell who is the better plane.

not to be offtopic, but i thought the mig-29ovt was the mig-35.

as to indian fighter, i wouldnt go around making claims of "best helicopter". the dhruv has israeli avionics, co-developed u.s engine, and german asistance in design. Hal hardy made any of its advanced features.
as i see it, the indian army was dissapointed by the dhruvs performance in the 1999 kargil war, thus requiring upgrades to push back the final service date.

Where did you see that? ********
The Indian Army had nothing to be disappointed about exept the lack of Dhurvs in the Kargil conflict. The Dhurv uses a French engine as of now and the more advanced model/attack/export model uses Isreali avonics. The engine Hal is developing on its own at the moment.
It has the world record of highest-altitude reached amongst all helicopters of all time.
There might be truth to this. I'm not sure but I remember reading the Indian Airforce for having the highest hell copter landing in the world. It was made by a Cheetah, perhaps it was done by a Dhurv?

The glorious leader??!!!

wth?? I know for a fact that the Indian army wasnt so pleased with the engines and a few avionic features used on the dhruv in 1999, so it sponsered a seies of engine upgrades, and got isreali electronics.

Either that or get some evidence

It always supported Isreali avonics for customer choice and extra pennies. And in 1999 the Army didn't even have Dhurvs. *************

and so they made the product up to their standard and are inducting it at 20 a year.... and i dont think IAF has easy standards in product procurement.. itself pointing to good performance of dhruv

because the indian army thought the 1999 war was a good time to test the dhruv in actualy combat. but it didnt meet expectations, therfor got soem upgrades, ENTERING SERVICE in 2001.

Oh !! Miggy !!!
Why don't u understand, the use of choppers inactual combat before itpasses all of its flight testings is not allowed in India !!! In 1999 Dhruv's testing and final tuning was far from over.

perhaps i interpreted it wrong, but it says:
"The Indian Army tested the Dhruv in the 1999 Kargil war against Pakistan. While the advantages in hot-and-high performance parameters and altitude limitations were obvious when compared to the HAL Cheetah, the Army wanted more out of the TM333-2B2 engine. Thus a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 12 September 2000 between HAL and Turbomeca to develop a turbo shaft more powerful than the TM333-2B2 engine. Called Shakti in India and Ardiden 1H in France, the engine is expected to develop 900 kW (1200 shp). The engine is set to complete its first test bed run only in mid-2005."
