home service robot remains hard to say what they will look like. But robot vacuum with arm and able to move up and downstairs should be sufficient.

I still don't understand the purpose of humanoid robots. Assembly line and logistics already have robots with specialised design which the human body can't match. Tphuang shared a shaving video and I feel like there is no need to automate shaving. Any man should atleast learn to shave.
They are pure hype in my opinion.
Venture capitals want humanoids because of Elon Musk.

People are so starved for connection, I think the biggest market will be in artificial human companionship. People are already falling in love with their smart speakers and chatbots.

If you attach a pretty human face that can show different emotions, the game's over. People WILL get totally attached to these robots and spend tons of money on them. But that's just my opinion.

If the goal is to replace human labours with robots, humanoids are the best form because they will be able to fit in all the environments where human can live and work. Not so for other forms of robots.

Humanoids are more difficult. Once you make good functional humanoids, you will very likely be able to make any other form of robots of similar capabilities and performance. Making humanoids is like a "dragon slaying technique" in robotics.

I want one to shovel the snow, maybe cut the grass, water the plants.

Seems to me, other uses for these robots, would specialize into like hobby areas. If we plant some flowers or plants, then later these humanoid robots with their flexibility and dexterity, loaded with AI and sensors, could inspect the flower planted and other plants giving us humans updates on their plant condition.

They already got robots doing that on factory farms the animals according to Youtube videos.

Also, in some societies, the robot can be like security application. The White House already used a robot dog to patrol the grounds.

Just waiting for the humanoid guard.

They'll be able to do a lot when they have capable hands and to a less extent feet. Until then these dancing or kungfu moves and stuff are just gimmicks.
