report of H-8 bomber

But wouldn't a manned H-8 have bonuses like a better payload (one thing I've noticed about UCAVs is that they currently don't have much of a payload)

You can make a UCAV the size of the Boeing 747 without a problem. The problem is if someone has the will to do so.

I mean fly by wire control for flying wing.flying wing unlike conventional aircraft may needed more complex solfware and hardware .
Unless there's photo and more official information ,everything about the aircraft is a guesswork.

anjian is an UCAV for A2A combat rather than strike missions. So, it would definitely not get an H-8 designation.

That's a good point. And also Anjian is a Shenyang project if I recall correctly -- making it the wrong designer for a bomber.

Another alternative is that H-8 is a program to create a low-cost, slightly degraded version of the B-2.

If first flight is 2007, this is 18 years after the first flight of the B-2. It's not surprising at all that China would be able to replicate something the US did 18 years earlier.

My mistake then, but still not credible for mil-news I'd say.

Just a note, stealth or speed, Flying wings like the B-2 can't go supersonic.

One of the H-8 pictures floating around the internet. I read from some Chinese source that this plane has three engines possibly using 3 WS10A which will give it a lot more power than the American B-2 bomber. It also has the engine intake on the top of the bomber.

If one goes for three engines, then why not four?

As for the satellite pics, it's easier to hide a bomber than a sub. Besides, do we have the coordinates for PLAAF testing grounds?
