I don't know where they got their sources from, but I think people are reading it from somewhere. It seems reasonable to me. People can believe it or not, but don't ask me to look for more sources. It's not my job to look things up for everyone else.

Portugal and spin have very different mindset from many other Western European countries. It’s fo this reason they are more practical in accepting other cultures who aren’t similar to them and better suited with dealing with the rie of non western powers. Ever wondered why Macao never had any issues with integration with China or anti Chinese sentiments at all? If anything it’s the opposite . Compare this to non mainland chinese (and dominant Chinese) territories Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Singapore to some extent . Then you get a proper picture .
