Lieutenant General
Trying to redo my deck. Anyone has any experience with the deckover stuff?
It's bascially a very thick coat of paint made specifically for old decks.. to cover cracks and other imperfections

Have you buffed out, sand paper any of the old paint or anything like that yet? If the old primer is still good and the wood is still good you can just paint right over it. I don't know what condition your looks like though. But I hope my advice helps. I've worked on building a boat deck to my brother-in-law's house on the lake but we never did any painting or staining them.

We had our first snowfall last weekend (30cms) and officially Winter doesn't start until the first of June :(

Snow? You live in New Zealand correct? It has been muggy and warm. The weather will be more pleasant today. Hi about 80F (26C) and partly cloudy.

This year, I've got carrots, radishes, lettuce, tomato, watermelon, pepper, garlic chives and soy beans growing on my balcony. Many of these are my first attempt, so we'll see how they turn out. The radishes grew really quickly, but they haven't yet started to fill up their root bulbs.

I got rosemary, chives, and cilantro! Unfortunately when we started out my wife had simply bought the cheapest potting soil at the store and it came diluted with all sorts of junk, so I think our herbs aren't turning out as well as they could have. I didn't want to waste the "soil" so I tried it out anyways, I may have to restart from scratch after this season.

Potting soils may be lacking in nutrients, as they're primarily designed to retain moisture. Try fertilizing your herbs with some compost or manure.
