Amen Popeye!

My thoughts this Thanksgiving:

"Oh give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever." Psalm 107:1

I witness to all that this is true. Even in hard times, our faith is that the Lord God continues to bless and help us through if we seek Him. The same is true for our nation right now. Let's give thanks to God for our many blessings this Thanksgiving, and turn to Him...He will heal our nation if we do (or any other nation for that matter). Read II Chron. 7:14

We already have lots of family that has arrived here in southwest Idaho, and more coming. We will have about 25 here celebrating this day of thanks. Wife, in-laws, our kids and their spouses, and of course eight of our nine grandkids. Great food, great company...and a couple of football games!

Hope everyone has a GREAT day today...wherever you are. Gratitude for the good things in one's life, no matter how small they may seem, is a universal salve.

Good morning all, Black Friday???? hum, not so much, beautiful day here in Central Obamastan, suns out, (yeah, even after comet ISON attempted to put it out????), wifey at the bank, twins getting ready to drive Grandpa and Grandma to Carlinville, both recently passed their driving tests in drivers ed, so pray for all involved, especially Momma at the bank, working on restoring a little plaster upstairs in one of the twins rooms, they are going to paint??????wild colors but whatever, so its all good, now to beat my stupid scales with a hammer, they always lie, a little fine tuning with an appropriately weighted hammer is great for delicate electronics, right???? Now player, you just need to come eat this last peace of Pecan Pie! blessings to all, brat.

Also, my Dallas Cowboys actually won and are one step closer to the playoffs.

As to Black Friday...bully for those stores. It is probably the most profitable single day for them in the whole year.

Which is precisely why my practice of long standing it to go no where near those stores at all on this day. Far too crowded. I for one do not like the idea of them starting their "Black Friday" sale on Thursday afternoon in the middle of Thanksgiving. Let their workers enjoy the Holiday for Pete's sake. Let families not have to be tempted to interfere with their own holiday to go and take advantage of the sales.

But...it's a free country (thank God) and the people themselves will show whether it is worthwhile or not to those merchants. I hope they find it is not and stick to the Friday sale...you know, the one I do not take part in anyway. LOL!

We went to my parents' house yesterday and had a feast as well. I showed off by BBQ baby-back ribs and my parents were impressed. :)

Last night when we got back home we decided to see if we can get an ipad air with $100 off at Target, supposedly the best deal on the ipad. We waited 2 hours in the cold and ended up with nothing. I kept asking the staff if the deal was something like a doorbuster while we were waiting. If it was, then we would have left long ago even though we were at the front of the line. Doorbusters mean they got only 1-2 units actually in the store. And the chances of getting one is next to none. The staff told us they got plenty. Then we got in the store and got in another line for Apple stuff only. We were again in the front of the line. And when thee were only 3 people ahead of us, the staff said they still got plenty units left. Then when we got to the line, they told us they sold out all the 16gb units. We waited over 2 hours for nothing. We got so mad that we ended up buying 2 ipad air units on line when we got back home. We usually don't wait at the door for doorbuster deals. We normally take our time and go to stores mid morning on the actual Black Friday. And based on this experience, we will never do it again...

First Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Second, I know how you feel Vesicles that's why I'm never going to do that waiting outside in the cold ever again on Black Friday. Heck one can even get a better deals for electronics at the end of the year sale. OMG, I remember two years back my sister came to Houston for a visit on Thanksgiving and she wanted to go to the Galleria (Houston's premier and largest shopping mall). I mean it was traffic both ways on the free way and took almost 30 minutes JUST TO FIND parking in the garages. Once we're inside the Galleria it was basically shoulder to shoulder on all 3 levels at the main area. I had my hand on my side pocket all the time just to make sure my wallet is still there. It was an 8 hour ordeal from start to finish once we got home. I'm sorry I don't care how wonderful and beautiful my future Mrs. Equation would look like I...am...NOT....doing that again!:(

Oh the good old Galleria. I would prefer not to go there if I had any choice. Westheimer is horrible in terms of traffic.

Now the holiday season has officially started. Time to think about gifts...

I just found this out and it pissed me off. Some idiot thought this was funny.

A replica of a NASA space shuttle on display in Houston was defaced Wednesday (Nov. 27), when vandals sprayed racial and political graffiti on the side of the full-size mockup. The offending markings were quickly covered over within hours of their being found.
