This is sad, I enjoyed those movies as a motor head, even though the plot was a little hokey, oversteer is definitely a tricky thing to manage, the rear weight bias of the Porsche loves to "swap ends" when it breaks loose, my last toy car was a fourth gen Camaro SS convertible, I loved driving it, but it was definetly not a "happy car" at speed, it was hard to get the larger tires balanced, by 135 mph, I had enough. My 01 gixxer on the other hand is planted, and crazy fast, but I have been looking for a second gen Camaro that I can afford, I think my sport-bike days are nearing an end, but I also read where two were killed in an Amish buggy accident. Sorry to hear about Paul, YOU be safe. brat

I love Camaro SS, I have driven the car before, I never actually own it but I drove my friend Camaro, it is a good muscle car with raw power.

American muscle cars such as corvette, mustangs, Camaros actually gives you bigger bang for your bucks than many overpriced European sports cars.

you too ride safe.

I once had once owned a '67 Camaro Rallye Sport... actually a shipmate needed about $1200 bucks to pay cash fo the car and I loaned it to him. My name was on the title as cow-owner. He paid me back in about 4 months.

The car had a 327 V8 but it had a three speed manual transmission on the floor.

Oh my god, now you got me drooling and my saliva is all over my desk now, you owned a classic piece of history right there man.

Too bad in where I live, you can only get American muscle cars through independent importers at heavily inflated price and even if you buy them it is a nightmare getting the spare parts and the mechanics able to service them.

In High School, from 1972-1974, my brother and I fixed this up:

That's a 1969 Dodge GTS with the 383 V-8, we put a Holley 4 barrel carb in it, with glass packs, and really good tires. She was fast, and very, very good on the curves. 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. We took it to college, driving from North Central Texas to Provo, UT and back several times.

A real fun...and real fast...car.

It's just a car.. when I owned them It was 1975 or so.. thought nothing of them being classics. Just a car.. And I was real young.

When I was transferred to San Diego in October '77 the first thing I did was buy my first new car..It looked just like this..mine was the same color but had different wheels.
