Watch out! they almost killed their coach... My prayer to Kubiak!

I know, the poor guy. Either way I think this will be his last season as the Texans coach when he recovers. Fans are getting restless. In the mean time I will enjoy watching my Rockets!

They are indeed exciting to watch! All those shooters and the new twin tower! I did get a little upset when I found out that they pulled JLin off the starting line-up... Well, ball doesn't lie. He is starting now... Beverly is a good hustle player, but he is no point guard. their offense always looks chaotic when he is on the floor. JLin is a pass-first point guard and organizes the offense effectively.

I think coach McHale will switch off starting either JLin or Beverly at PG depending on the opposing team matches. Beverly provides quick feet on defense and can recover from screens and pick and rolls. JLin provides the shooting, drive, and set plays.

I miss the day when it was $0.78/gallon... I was in college at the time. And we were complaining out loud when it went up to a dollar/gallon. I would wish it would go to $1/gallon...
When I was a kid I can remember driving from Texas to Alabama to visit my grandparents and passing through "Gas Price Wars" in Mississippi where gas stations were selling fuel (leaded back then) for 12 cents and 13 cents a gallon. This was in the mid 1960s.

My first job off of the ranch was pumping gas in Sanger, TX at the old Phillips 66 there for 38 cents a gallon in 1971 at 15 years old.

I know in 2008 when President Bush gave the go ahead to start exploring and pumping oil out of the Gulf, off the Pacific Coast, in Alaska, and to open up the refracking and shales, that things went quickly from near $4.00/gallon back to around $1.50...and that was in 2008.

If we wanted, we could do so again. We could be the world's largest producer by far, and if we built the refineries, we could get it down that low again. But we have to have the political will to do so and sadly, we just don't have it right now.

My first job after graduating HS was pumping gas at a station in Cincinnati OH. Gas was .38 a gallon for regular, .41 cents for ethyl (premium) and we had unleaded..which no one bought ..that was .45 cents a gallon.

From '75 to '77 when I was stationed in the Philippines gas was .36 cents on base. I think all they had was regular. When I was stationed in San Diego starting in October of '77 gas was .53 a gallon for unleaded on base...that's a long time ago.

I remember my father telling me that in the early 70's, he drove through this town called Hunterville which had this after hours petrol dispenser set up which never seemed to work properly.

He would insert ten shillings which would have been the equivalent of a $1us for four gallons. The trouble was the machine wouldn't stop as longer as ones finger was on the petrol release trigger.

It had him beat how the proprietor earn taken living.

This is the Shell station I worked at back in '71 shortly before I joined the Navy. Of course it did not look like this 42 years ago...even the street name is different...It use to be "Melish AV".

I also worked here in the summer of 1971.

Hehehe. And here's what used to be a Phillips 66 Station (it's now a Quick Track) at the Interstate 35 and FM 455 intersectioin in Sanger, TX, where I worked in 1971. The only part of the building remaining from back then are the car garages to the left. The pumps were in the same place, but they're new, like everything else.

Whew...42 years ago, and I was a young lad of 15 years. Working for...let's see, what was it? I believe about $1.19 an hour.
