We went on a road trip to Platteville WI today to visit my wife's aunt. She's 87. We had a great time just being nice and enjoying the company and the ride there & back.. It's about 107 miles one way...

Today it was unseasonably warm . the high in Cedar rapids was 62F. (16c) trust me that was unseasonably warm.. It's still 59F right now.

Trust me, 16 degree C is freezing for us as we have 30+ degree all year long. The hottest between Mar and May is 40+. It's burning. I remember back to early 2000s, we once had a small winter which the temperature was wondering between 15 to 20 degree C. It lasted for about one month. Many caught flu and cold jackets went very good sales that season.

I spent quite a bit of time in Taiwan, Honk Kong, India, etc. where such conditions as you mention are common.

It was stifling for me...but at least I was raised in a part of Texas where 40 C is not an uncommon thing during the summers and they have high humidity. In that part of Texas they always had a decent Fall, Winter, and Spring, though all of those together were about 5 months of the year where 7 months were quite warm.

Now, here in Idaho, it is the reverse. We have about 5 months of Spring, Summer, and Fall combined, and the rest is more winter-like.

Maybe it is because of my upbringing, but I have decided I like this better. LOL!

Saw three Chinooks flying real fast and low on my way to work today.. I would say maybe 3-400 ft max. Wonder what it's all about. Thought the sound was my car at first and was like WTH??? then as it got louder realized it was a chopper.

They know you are a USN sympathizer, they are keeping an eye on you bro????? I saw a Chinook on Kentucky Lake last year hovering about 15 to 20 feet off the water, my little bro aimed his bassy boat right at it instead of heaving too as I commanded him,,,,,( he never did listen, that's why I had to give him some instruction, prolly why he started taking karate, yes that Korean stuff, Tai Kwon Doe, yes he did get tougher, so what??????), anyway back to my story, they of course abandoned ship, not wanting to capsize the Triton, I would have loved to have pulled off and watched, instead they did a dip and clip, off down to the bridge they went and did a 180, and flapped off to Fort Bragg!! KRAPP why can't these small boat operators follow orders???? brat

First visible snowfall in toronto last night (not enough to cover the ground tho). And today it got really cold (2 degrees C). Perhaps it's time for winter tires!

We've had a couple of dustings of snow.. but nothing substantial.

Price of gas is now at $2.81 for unleaded plus.

This Houston weather sucks lately, one day it's 45 degrees and the next 72 degree. It's been like this for almost a week. Yuck an easy way to get sick.:(
