It isn't worth fighting against , for the most part many military watchers/ hobbyist , especially those on the internet have this tendency to be "gear guys" . Meaning they tend to view everything as how this item will effect combat capabilities, cause that the easiest thing to talk about, it's the same with car guys talking about cylinder size and not how do drive better.
In this context ,PLA infantry gear are lacking behind but in doctrine it matters very little in a high intensity near peer fight , a infantry squad given few drones and a leaser designator probably will add more to the capability then giving them a new gun sight. But there is no point trying to explain to them that guns only account to about 20% of casualty.
In a real war in which both sides got artilleries, armour vehicles, combat aircrafts, etc, that ratio is likely far far less. In the Ukraine theatre it is probably less than 5%

Ukraine might be the odd one out there , we just don't know yet if this what a info age war looks like , it is the first time since WW1 we have the war where the lethality of the weapons made the frontlines relatively stable. Since infantry squad weapons is less casualty producing in stable frontlines in general. In this decade basically every army need to revaluate the role of infantry squad.

All the wars fought by the US after WWII were against much weaker opponents that had no capable air force nor heavy weapons. When you are fighting goat herders, of course most of the casualties are caused by small arms.

Ukraine war is fought between modern armed forces, therefore I believe it is more representative.

Whats with the optic on the second guy?

A typical cringy propaganda photo that accomplishes exactly the opposite of what's intended. I'm not sure what to make of the OP's insistence on sharing so many uninteresting and cringy photos. Is he trying to convince us that PLAGF lacks professionalism, or is he simply not discerning enough to know better?

Funny story. About five or six ago, I got a Facebook friend request from someone in Congo. I've never met the person, nor did we have friends in common, so I clicked on his profile to check him out. He literally had at least 200 photos of his flat screen TV in his gallery. He was apparently very proud of owning a TV that you and I would consider perfectly ordinary, but for someone living in Congo, a country with a GDP per capita of less than $700, owning a flat screen TV must have been quite an achievement, so much so the dude couldn't stop sharing photos of his prized possession.

This thread reminds me of that Congo dude's Facebook page. It's been turned into a gallery of boring, low-quality, and sometimes downright embarrassing photos of a rifle whose novelty factor has long worn off. It's a pain the ass to have to scroll through page after page after page of tediously dull images in order to glean useful information or read the discussions.

I think the picture is good quality but the dude at the front just isn't photogenic, his helmet looks disproportionate to his head size he cannot help that. And I do appreciate the great gallery of photos you've submitted by78, thank you for your contributions.
You'll get a bad picture here and there in every military, UK and US have had some dreadful photos lately for example.

Here's the problem with that image. I know cringe is a relative thing: you could say his optic is mounted too far forward, or you might say his rifle is mounted too far back. Either way, I'm just glad he isn't holding his rifle upside down.

And speaking of not photogenic, here's another example from the original poster. Check out the guy in the foreground. He must be the Chinese

giving us his best war face. I'll admit that at one point in my life, maybe around ages of six to nine, I would have regarded that photo as cool.
