ITAR be damned lmao
I'm just surprised that customs haven't went after the third parties that got them into China. A scope should be extemely obvious to even the TSA or any European equivalent.ITAR in this is fairly weak. Anyone with an Amazon account can buy a civilian ACOG. The difference between the military and civilian being mostly markings. The ACOG itself is now is now 30 years old. So hardly super secret technology. I mean yeah no way direct sales but like all off the shelf products it’s not that difficult to acquire.
First I think it comes under the CBP not TSA.I'm just surprised that customs haven't went after the third parties that got them into China. A scope should be extemely obvious to even the TSA or any European equivalent.
Both CBP and TSA handle ITAR. Otherwise, passengers can smuggle ITAR restricted items via carry on baggage.First I think it comes under the CBP not TSA.
That makes sense. If there is a will, there is a wayThe ITAR is primarily Going to effect the White Market particularly companies and sellers who operate in large volume export to Agencies. We have no idea how these got into China. Resale or redirected sales via gray market/ black market being a possibility. Even redirect by Chinese “civilians” in foreign countries. No goverment is omnipresent.
Additionally go back about 10 years and HK police were open to import and adopt western products. Acog is a bomb proof scope. They are built such that the weakest point is the mount. Meaning this scope could be decades old and still in service.
Might be a dumb question, but is this just another private instructor / contractor or an actual PLAMC member? (really can't tell by this point, given the large amounts of instructors posting themselves in full PLA gear on Weibo and Toutiao)
