It's almost funny for us lot to read an article that littered with several major mistakes and how nobody in the comment section pointed them out. And on top of that, both the article itself and comment section filled with old stereotypes and bias, but exactly as what we can expect from American audience.

Soldiers of the Hong Kong garrison perform with QBZ-191s + bayonets.

P.S. The only reason these images are even worth posting is because it's relatively rare to see QBZ-191s paired with bayonets.

Waited 3 years, endured both the insurgency and COVID pandemic, and the first open house was "group tickets" only...damn. Hope that change back to normal (tickets for general public) next year.

Let's see... even shorter barrel, new buttstock...
Probably in response to those operators who already got used to the compactness of 95-1 carbine. Sure the ballistic performance will suffer but since the typical operational environments are those <100m engagement range, that's acceptable I guess?
That, or maybe they are running cans and is desperately trying to keep the whole thing down to a manageable length, sort of like Mk18 CQBR?

The standard QBZ192 (QBZ191 carbine) is already the length of a Mk18, so if they want a suppressor on it, that is already close enough to the Mk18 with a suppressor set up.

One of the few reasons I can see this ultra short PDW variant being useful is if it is for AFV crew or perhaps as part of the kit for fighter pilots.
