So AI generated? Is this something official or just fan-made?
It's obviously fan made I have to say the guy who made this is pretty good at 3d modelling however who knows what will be in the store in the future for the qbz19, overall he is pretty talented and could work for on the overall qbz 19 ergonomics design if China South Industrial Company choose to make different modules of the 19

That looks ridiculous, and there's barely anything kept from the baseline 191 at all, and it seems they've chosen to add in lots of unnecessary weird angles to the receiver for sci-fi aesthetic.

Idea of modded 191 makes sense but you don't need that sort of idiocy.

Give it a free floated handguard and you're basically good. If you want to go take fancy measures you can even switch out the stock.

Looks more like a gun enthusiast rifle than an army rifle but that itself isn't a bad thing, just that one would not expect regular grunts to use something like this. I personally really like the rifle design. The stock and grip look comfortable and the receiver and handguard look sturdier than what's on the normal 191.

Switching out the stock and grip is not unreasonable if one is a gun enthusiast and this is on sale to private gun owners (which I doubt will ever happen), and as I said, changing the handguard is fine.

I personally think that changing the handguard to a free floated MLOK design similar to QBU-191 (but shortened of course) or URGI, and with modification of the gas block to a lower profile geometry are both very useful and practical modifications/kits that can be issued to standard QBZ-191s.

But that gun reeks of "tacti-cool" and the receiver is so far removed from QBZ-191 geometry that the gun shown basically is not even a 191 family rifle.

I wouldn't call it nice at all -- "pretentious" more like.
Something you'd expect to see on "/r/PlebianAR" if there was an equivalent for 191.

Ouch, putting this gun into that sub is probably the harshest thing I've seen to say haha.
So tacticool stuff isn't your liking, that's fine. Is there a tacticool rifle you consider decent or do you just dislike them all in general?

The term "tacticool" to me is synonymous with "bad". In the same way that one would not like a "bad" anything, I do not like any "tacticool" rifle when looking at the rifle itself (leaving aside accessories, of which one can be reasonable or bad/tacticool as well).

To me, URGI pattern is peak performance for a contemporary rifle:

There's a reason why URGI is so common in US SOF these days, have a look at the rifles carried and more importantly at the lower receivers which are all well used, legacy, and many still rock the legacy original M4 mil spec stocks as well:

Lightweight, adapts proven existing majority parts, changes things only where necessary, and enough real estate to put in as much as you need in terms of attachments, scopes.

For the 191, they could easily develop or issue an upgrade kit that changes out the barrel nut, modifies the gas block, and puts in a new FF M LOK handguard, and they would get there.
Or, if that is to finnicky, they can just issue an entirely new upper receiver group themselves from the factory so the user can change it out easily.

They already have QBU-191 which basically has everything I described above just in a heavier and longer barrel for a DMR package.
Take a similar approach with the rifle and carbine length QBZ-191s and you'll have a winner.
