Right I did not notice that, the clear plastic box on the right labels 5.8mm sniper round. Thanks for that!

I guess these bullets are for QBU191 and the brown box DBP191 5.8mm are for QBZ191 and QBZ192?
So the QBU-191 will be using sniper versions of the DBP191? So similar to the old QBU then correct?

These bullets are for QBU141.

That actually makes more sense. The video is uploaded by SWAT officers, so it makes sense for them to have QBU141, and the bullets that go with it.

That leads to an interesting question, what type of bullet will QBU191 use? Will it just use the normal DBP191 or some heavier variant? I guess we will see.

Add to that, is there really a SAW version. We've only seen it with drum mags twice and one was an art and the other was heavily censored.

The "SAW/IAR" variant of the QBZ-191 has always just been the QBU-191 with a drum magazine. Though of course, even being equipped with 30 round box magazines it can still operate as a "SAW/IAR" depending on your interpretation of what such a weapon is meant to be (see M27 IAR).

Of course the true SAW/LMG in 5.8mm is the new LMG (variously called QJB-161, QJS-201, and so on).

Whether QBU-191 may still pull double duty as DMR and "SAW/IAR" in certain units, who knows.

Man, the recoil looks great! Great as in low recoil I mean. Man, I wish they showed these videos first instead of the one with the trainees who don't know how to hold a gun or control recoil. Douyin and Chinese media are now full of misinformed people who think these guns haves higher recoil than the 95...

The video previous to mine was specifically designed to compare how the qbz-95 recoils different to the qbz-191.

There are like two main components of recoil in a gun: Perceived recoil and muzzle climb. The previous video showed how the SWAT guys tried to tame the recoil and climb as best as they could. In the end, it was appreciable that the shaking an the push of the rifle on auto was significant. On the other hand, the m4-style buffer stock of the qbz-191 made the recoil very controllable, and the technique of the operative managed perfectly the muzzle climb.

I remember that in 2020 China released two videos. One was in commemoration of the 70th anniversary, which had a part where some passenger in a bike had to shoot some targets while moving. The other one was a propaganda video for recruitment for the paratrooper brigade, which briefly showed a kitted out operator in a desert environment. Both videos only had the operators fire two shoots onscreen. Recoil and climb looked pretty low in those videos. Coincidentally, they had a c-clamp grip style, much like the SWAT dudes.

The gun looked like it had an enormous muzzle climb with the trainees because they literally used the possibly worst stance and grip for handling bursts (Straight Soviet stance and cupping the bottom of the magazine with the supporting hand).

Yeah, I agree. I don't know why of all the videos to release of it on a major platform from an official source they havve to choose that one. I know I've defended a lot of China's PR but this was just so bloody stupid.
