PLAN haven't given the carrier the name. And Trumpeter is so eager to cash in on the hype....

The trumpeter box is so funny... PLAN carrier (Nameless)

Well, the did produce a very decent model...and once it has a pennant and a name, I will easily be able to add that in.

I'm glad they put it out there as it lets me build the entire carrier group...and she has been launched as well into trials.

All 1/350 scale I believe, but scratch built with match sticks and boxes. WOW!

Wow, he did all that and doesn't seem to impair his vision whatsoever (with exception to his glasses).

Well they better name her the Shilang, thats what I started calling my wifey around valentines day, when I told her it was the name of the Chinese aircraft carrier, I was in a lot of trouble. She said "WHAT DOES THAT MEAN". I told her it meant "Beautifull Lady"!

Oooh, that's treading uncomfortably close to a few days banishment to the couch! Still, pronounced in English, "Shi Lang" does sound graceful and even somewhat feminine. Maybe she'll buy that if you find yourself cornered someday!;)

LOL! Did you ever see the youtube video about "In the Dog House". About a guy who gave his wife a double bagger vaccuum cleaner for their anniversary. If you haven't, watch it. It's a riot. You have to be close with that one.

It's better to wait for the 2nd version from Trumpeter. Once its commission, name given/pennant number set. Everything has comfirm. I bet that will be a even more accurate depict of PLAN CV.

Yes, for my wifes birthday the first year we were married, I bought her an old Smith and Wesson K-22, thinking she could use this for self defense, to say she was not pleased is a gross understatement, I went to Penney's and bought her some pearl ear rings the next day, that made it almost OK. I ordered a set of Pearl pimp grips for the k-22 from Ajax grips, she was at least a little impressed, and I have been forbidden to sell or trade it.

Well, I have been tracking the ex-Varyag and the ultimate Chinese refit for the last 10 years.

This model is highly accurate based on what we can see with our own eyes. The model, like almost all such 1/350 scale models does not depict the entrior workings of the vessel, but the exteriror.

There are enough numbers to make the pennant number whatever it ends up being in the decal sheet. I have noted the two small deiscrepancies which I have corrected myself.

Other than that, she is looking very nice...no need to wait for a second one if anyone is interested. This one is top notch.
